The grading and evaluation system at the university promotes academic rigor through several mechanisms: a minimum passing mark of 50% for each course, a comprehensive grading system that places students on probation or academic relegation based on GPA thresholds, and a no re-evaluation policy for answer books, although checking for numerical errors is allowed. Additionally, strict attendance requirements must be met to qualify for exams, ensuring students are thoroughly engaged throughout .

The flexibility in elective courses for Mechanical Engineering students at WEC allows them to tailor their education according to personal interests and career goals. It fosters a diversified skill set by enabling students to explore various topics, from manufacturing systems to robotics. This adaptability not only enriches their educational experience but also enhances their employability by allowing them to align their expertise with industry demands and personal passions .

Remedial courses are beneficial as they allow students to address gaps in their knowledge that could hinder success in their degree programs, thus enabling a more diverse range of applicants to join the university. However, these courses can also be a limitation as their additional requirements add to the time and effort needed to complete a degree. This may place undue pressure on students who are already balancing rigorous coursework, potentially affecting their overall academic performance .

The Electronics & EMT Lab within the Physics Department provides necessary tools and training for conducting lab work, thereby enhancing students' practical skills in Basic and Advanced Analog Electronics, Digital Electronics, and Electricity and Magnetism. The lab is equipped with digital and analog oscilloscopes, IC checkers, multimeters, and other essential components that help students apply theoretical knowledge to practical problems, fostering a deeper understanding .

The Mechanical Engineering program at WEC emphasizes industry-academia collaboration, significantly impacting students by providing them with real-life problem-solving experiences through projects sponsored by industries. This approach ensures that students not only learn theoretical concepts but also apply them in practical settings, making them industry-ready upon graduation. The collaboration is facilitated by the program’s access to industrial infrastructure and real-world engineering problems, preparing graduates to immediately contribute to industries .

The Department of Chemical Engineering at WEC benefits uniquely from its proximity to Pakistan's largest concentration of industrial units, providing students with hands-on experience that complements their theoretical knowledge. This includes engagement in areas such as Chemical, Petroleum, Refining, Cement, Glass, Fertilizers, Textiles, Explosives, and Ordnance, thus placing the department in a favorable position in the academic and industrial realms .

Faculty specializations in the Department of Physics, such as materials science and nuclear energy, align with the department's educational goals by providing comprehensive expertise that informs curriculum development and research opportunities. Specialized faculty ensure that students receive education and training that is relevant, up-to-date, and in line with modern scientific advances, preparing them for competitive challenges in various sectors .

The Advanced Physics Lab plays a crucial role in the education of physics students by providing them with hands-on training in Applied Modern Physics. It features state-of-the-art experimental setups in mechanics, optics, thermodynamics, nuclear and atomic physics, among others. This exposure not only enhances students' practical skills but also prepares them for basic research tasks critical for their final year projects, reinforcing their capability to perform in professional settings .

The Department of Computer Sciences prepares its graduates for industry challenges by offering a curriculum that includes both core courses and specialized electives taught by experienced faculty. This approach ensures students can design, implement, test, and maintain advanced software systems, while tackling issues like functionality, security, and efficiency. Furthermore, practical labs with the latest equipment and software provide real-world experience, ensuring a balance of theoretical knowledge and practical application .

The requirement for study leaves for MS nominees ensures that students can fully commit their time and resources to their studies by becoming regular students. This policy prevents distractions caused by other professional obligations, allowing students to concentrate on their academic advancement. However, failure of the parent department to grant this leave within a semester results in admission cancellation, underscoring the necessity for full-time academic focus .
