Introduction:

In the workforce compared to the employment shortage reason by the problem of unemployment.
Bangladesh has problem become complex and obvious in this present.It is serious treat to the
economic and financial of a developing country like Bangladesh.People are involved in various
criminal activities due to the pain of unemployment.As a result,chaos is everywhere in the state
instrument Employment creates earning capacity and ensures workers entitlement on goods and
services.Employment greatly depends on investment.Investment is the most vital factor for
economic growth and development.Investment generates employment.Creation of employment
opportunities is important for poverty alleviation and sustainable development. Employment not
only helps the unemployed but also his/her family members to meet basic necessities of life.
Their expenditures create multiplier effects on the economy.Unemployment and poverty are two
great problems in Bangladesh.If sufficient jobs are not generated unemployment problem will
create many complex social and political problems.

Definition of unemployment:

Unemployment refers to the state of being without any work both for the educated and
uneducated for earning livelihood.It problem has become a concern all over the world.Nowadays
in the world as these problem in Bangladesh.Thousands of people in our country are without any
job.However, unemployment is a problem which is not just individual people. But the economic
and financial condition in a whole country.

Kinds of unemployment:

Unemployment can be of many types on the geographical location of the country, socio-
economic status, Economic crisis, political instability etc.The incomparability of the workforce
with the type of work creates a type of unemployment. The rate of structural unemployment is
higher in Bangladesh.There are many kinds employment are:

1.Open unemployment.2.Structure Unemployment.3.Disguised unemployment. 4.Frictional

unemployment. 5.Seasonal unemployment.6.Educated unemployment7.Technical
unemployment. 8.cyclcal unemployment.

Cause of unemployment problem in Bangladesh :

Bangladesh is developing country.This is trapped in a serious unemployment problem.

Unemployment will increase day by day.The rate of 25% unemployment in Bangladesh is more
than total population.There are many cause of unemployment in Bangladesh. Such as:
1.Population growth:Unemployment is gradually increasing in Bangladesh due to take of
employment at the rate of of 1.48 percent.Employment is not being created accordingly.AS a
result,Unemployment is a most important problem which is increasing day by day.So,more
population growth, houses are being buit on agricultural land and farmers are losing their crop
land2.Defective education system:The education system of British ruled India has not changed
even today Educated people are increasing day by day.But career oriented educated people are
not increasing.As a result, this is one of the most important cause of unemployment in the current
context.3.Slow Economic growth :The economy is underdeveloped and role of economic growth
is very slow.Slow growth fails to provide enough unemployment opportunities to the increasing
population.4.Joint family system :Big families having big businesses, many such persons will be
able who do not do any work and depend on the joint income of the family.6.Agriculture is a
seasonal occupation:Big portion of population is depend on agriculture. Agriculture being
seasonal provides work for a few months.Agriculture is underdeveloped. So, this gives rise to
unemployment.There are many factors that cause underemployment. When workers outnumber
decent jobs, they will take anything they can get to pay the bills.It forces skilled and educated
workers to take low-skilled, part-time jobs,” Zaid Hussain, former lead economist at the World
Bank’s Dhaka office, told The Daily Star. Experts also blamed the mismatch between the skills
offered by the country’s education system and the job requirements in various sectors.The
knowledge and skills that graduates acquire at educational institutions have little application in
work, making them less relevant in the labour market.

Government priority in technical education for skilled manpower:

As a result of the upcoming Fourth Industrial Revolution,Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has
highlighted the need for skilled manpower and given utmost importance to technical education. 
He said this while addressing a function at Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the
capital on Sunday. "We need skilled manpower," he said.That is why we have given utmost
importance to technical education.”The Prime Minister inaugurated the three-day 23rd IDEB
National Conference and the International Conference on Skills Readiness for Achieving SDGs
and Adapting IR 4.The conference was organized by the Institute of Diploma Engineers,
Bangladesh (IDEB) and Manila Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC) in the Philippines in
collaboration with the Department of Technical Education (DTE) of the Ministry of Education
and Bangladesh Technical Education Board.The Prime Minister said,"In the future,not only
Bangladesh,but the whole world will need skilled manpower."Those who go abroad have to
become proficient in technical matters.That is why our education system has been changed with
the emphasis on technical education.'Noting that the government is assisting the non-
governmental organizations which are imparting technical training, the Prime Minister said,'
Skilled manpower is most important for building a country.We always think of it and we are
working to create skilled manpower. ”The Prime Minister said the government wants to build
manpower in such a way that they can compete anywhere in the competitive world.

Unemployment problems and solution :

Unemployment is the inability of a person to enter the world of work despite his qualifications.
Unemployment is present in people of all levels,educated, uneducated or semi-educated. Lately,
the rate of educated unemployment in our country has increased at an alarming rate. It is said that
youth is the real strength of the country. But in unemployment this energy is wasted endlessly. It
became an obstacle to the economic development of the country. That is why it is necessary to
solve the problem of unemployment in a planned way.The solution is not only to be skilled in the
job, but also to increase employment, but also to improve the mood. That is why it is possible to
eliminate our unemployment in three ways.1.Thematic technical training 2. Creating
employment opportunities 3.Job evolution.Unemployment is one of the main problems in
Bangladesh and also a mutual problem everywher ein the world.No country on the globe is
totally free of it. But Bangladesh faces a big suffer for t his problem. Instead, this problem is
very serious in our country.There are many direct or indirect explanations behind
unemployment.They are the following: Ourcountry is in excess of populati on. The population
growth rate is very high.So eventually the present career facilities cannot kee p leap using the
risingpopulation.Although,our country isn’tdeveloped in industries and agricult ure. Industry can
absorb only a limited number of people andmany of this employee are not satisf ied with their
job and salary.Again, our education system isvery faulty and at the poorest situatio n.It is old-
style and is determined by memorization.

Way to eradicate unemployment:

The steps needs ti be taken to solve the unemployment problem in Bangladesh. Here it is. 1.No
work should be considered trivial and should be given the status of physical labour. 2.Adequate
advantage for vocational education should be created. Appropriate programme should be taken
the expansion of women’s education. 3.We have to get out of religious prejudices. 4.Educated
youth should be made rural. 6.Working workers have to arranged work abroad. 7.In this page of
information technology outsourcing to the Internet can be another way to reduce unemployment.
Some steps can be taken to reduce this problem.For example, there is a dearth of vocational
education in this country. Career oriented education must be implemented. A young man should
not just be educated. He has to learn hand-to-hand work. Admission should be done according to
the employment posts in colleges and universities.Must give effective education. Young people
have to be entrepreneurs even if they have little capital without waiting for a job. Be self-reliant
without being dependent.Must increase morale or confidence. Your own initiative cannot be
underestimated.Lest people laugh at you.Need to do art based work. Training needs to be
arranged for the qualification of the youth.Technology-based efficiency should be increased.
Employment can also be done through online work through digital devices.Finally,We need to
change our attitude.You have to underestimate any work.You have to be careful and respectful
towards your work.Then it is possible to gradually reduce unemployment in our country.

Conclusion:

Unemployment is a curse in our country.So,we have to try to overcome this problem.

Unemployed youth should be well organized through cooperative.They essential to keep in mind
that capitalism is not a problem right now.The problem is just initiative.We have to take job
creation initiatives to solve the unemployment problem in our country.Moreover,educated people
think of self -employment only by avoiding the mentality of being behind the deer to the army.
The huge burden of unemployment from the shoulders of the nation.So,the government must
come forward and the people must also make concerted effort.
