Virtues in the Good Samaritan Parable

The parable shows three virtues: 1) Compassion, when the Samaritan shows sympathy for the injured man. 2) Hospitality, when the Samaritan allows the injured man to ride on his donkey. 3) Generosity, when the Samaritan pays for the injured man's care at the inn. The Good Samaritan helped the stranger despite their social differences because he recognized their shared humanity. If asked, the author would also help an injured stranger as the Samaritan did. They believe that differences in race or religion should not prevent helping someone in need, as all people deserve to be treated with dignity.
