Goetze 681 Series Pressure Reducing Valves

This document provides information on pressure reducing valves made of gunmetal with threaded connections. It describes their suitable uses for liquids, air, gases and vapors. It lists nominal diameters and connection sizes available, as well as material specifications, approvals, and installation dimensions. Pressure reducing valves are used to protect systems from pressures that are too high by regulating outlet pressure levels despite varying inlet pressures.

CAPACIT Y CHARTS

Dimensioning by pressure loss on the outlet pressure side

Flow chart water

Flow rate V in [m³/h]

Pressure drop delta p [bar]

Dimensioning by fl ow velocity

For liquids:
With help of the chart you can determine the nominal diameter (DN) for a given fl ow volume V (m³/h). According to DVGW-guidelines (DIN 1988) a fl ow
velocity of 2 m/s in domestic water supply systems should not be exceeded.

For compressed air and other gaseous media:

The usual fl ow velocity for compressed air is 10 - 20 m/s. For gaseous media the fl ow volume V should always be shown in actual cubic meters/hour.
If the fl ow volume is given in standard cubic meters, these should be converted into actual cubic meters before using the diagram.

Actual cubic meters are based on the prevailing pressure of the medium on the outlet side of the pressure reducer.
