Welcome  Sam  &  Helen  Livingston
to  our  retreat!  They  are  Canaan’s
missionaries  in  Taiwan.

Meet  them  Saturday  (Classroom

175,  2:15  pm)

[Link]

After  marriage  their  missions  interest  became  a

commitment  to  serve  overseas  despite  their  many  excuses
of  money,  family,  and  safety.  They  joined  Act  Beyond    as
career  missionaries  to  reach  the  people  struggling  with
hurts,  habits,  addictions,  and  disability  and  began  working
in  Taichung  city  in  2009.    In  their  first  term  of  service  in
Taiwan,  Helen  experienced  the  loss  of  both  her  parents  due
to  cancer.    The  Livingstons  have  four  children:  Nathan,  Joy,
Lily  and  Gracie  who  attend  the  local  public  schools  in
Taichung  City.

Sam  &  Helen  see  themselves  as  ‘wounded  healers,’  serving

with  the  broken  in  body  and  spirit  to  find  healing  and  hope
again,  so  they  can  declare  God’s  strength  in  their  weakness.
They  emphasize  ministry  among  the  disability  community.
Their  strategy  is  to  plant  churches  with  a  recovery
emphasis,  causing  the  rapid  multiplication  of  new
churches  across  Taiwan  into  the  unreached  working  class
of  Taiwan  which  is  less  than  1%  Christian.    Their  own
suffering  journey  enables  them  to  coach  leaders  who  will  in
turn  train  others  to  start  support  groups  to  renew  and  multiply  churches.  They  welcome  you  to  contact  them
at  SDL@[Link]  to  get  regular  updates  on  their  ministry  and  family.
