ACTS’ MID-YEAR EVALUATION AND PLANNING 2021
The New Normal in Education has fully embraced by the institution with positive mindsets and
enthusiasm. Amidst the pandemic, it has already adapted the challenges that go with this new learning set-
up. A one-day activity commenced ACTS Computer College’s Mid-year Evaluation and Planning for the
year 2021 with the theme "Resiliency and Responsiveness to the Challenges in the New Normal of
Education". It happened last March 17, 2021 and was prepared by the institution as part of the preparation
of all the personnel for the upcoming second semester of S.Y. 2020 – 2021 and to assess how well they
work for the last semester.
All the faculty and staff of ACTS Computer College participated actively on the said program. The
emcees were Mr. Ninyo Joseph C. Valenzuela and Ms. Manzyel Joy De Lilla who were in control of the
program. The registration started at 7:15 in the morning. Initial parts of the program were opening prayer
from the President/ Director of ACTS Computer College, Prof. Ruben Macalinao and the singing of the
National Anthem from the ACTS Technical team. The participants were delighted by the ice breaker
preceded by Dr. Eric P. Castillo and Prof. Abiekhay Camillee U. Lavastida. Prof. Ruben F. Macalinao
expressed his sincere gratefulness for finishing one great semester with the full cooperation and dedication
of all the faculty and staff of the institution. The next significant part of the event was the presentation of the
different evaluation of the academic programs. Evaluation of the Students’ Development Program and the
Different Learning Modalities was presented by Dr. Eric P. Castillo and Prof. Abiekhay Camillee U.
Lavastida. It was then followed by the Evaluation of the Marketing Strategies by Prof. Adeline Z. Davac
and Evaluation of the Personnel, Community Outreach, Research and Development by Dr. Adoree A.
Ramos. Mr. Ariel M. Tobias presented the ACTS E-Classroom Manager with SMS Technology, an efficient
and innovative system to monitor students’ attendance and submission. The morning session ended with
an opening prayer by Mr. Ninyo Joseph Valenzuela.
The afternoon session opened up with a prayer by Mr. Jerome C. Aguilar. The different department
heads gave essential talks about the New Normal. Engr. Randie Ian A. Villatuya, the first speaker,
presented the challenges in Engaging Students in a Distance Learning. The next speaker was Prof. Adeline
Z. Davac, who gave an informative talk about “How to Handle Different Attitudes/ Behaviors Outside the
School Environment. It was Dr. Eric P. Castillo who served as the third speaker. He shared essential “Tips
on Engaging Distance Learners into a More Motivating Learning Environment. The last speaker was Dr.
Adoree A. Ramos, who presented topic about “Overcoming Roadblocks While Teaching at Home”. The
said event ended with the closing prayer by Mrs. Moriela K. Mercado.
Evaluating the institution’s performances on different aspects and empowering faculty and staff
were the highlights of the event. It was indeed a blessed day for the institution as it was once again has the
chance to conduct such activity in face to face set – up strictly following the mandatory health protocols.
