Motivation letter for Master degree in Computer Science

Dear Sir/madam,

With this letter, I would hereby like to apply for a Master program in Information and Data Science offered
by UC Berkeley School of Information in the academic year 2020.

First of all, let me introduce myself, I am [name] and recently I have been working in Apple as a Network
Engineer. I have gained my Bachelor degree in Computer Science and Engineering from University of
Geneva in Switzerland.

The undergraduate curriculum in Computer Science and Engineering in Geneva has familiarized me with a
wide variety of engineering subjects. Various courses like Digital Electronics, Mathematics, Computer
Organization, Programming, Mobile Application Development, Micro Processor, Interfacing & Assembly,
Data Structures, Algorithm Analysis and Design, Digital Signal Processing, Network and System Security,
Digital system, Algorithm analysis and design, Computer graphics and multimedia, Computer Simulation
and Modeling provided me with a strong footing in the theoretical concept of Computer Science and
Software Engineering.

While offering both depth and extensiveness across this field, these courses put into perspective the
relevance of Computer Science and the application of its fundamentals to the problems faced by the real
world. Therefore, I can acknowledge that further development of my knowledge base of Computer Science
is essential for my career. I will have a great contribution to the society since I have ideas to develop many
exciting projects and I believe this master can give me solid theoretical and practical base.

I am much eager to adopt and learn about new technologies. I am enthusiastic to attend a Master of
Information and Data Science in order to understand different Computer Science Concepts because every
industry nowadays needs the concept of Computer Science. The good reputation of high-quality education
standards, an extremely distinguished faculty members, and research facilities in Berkeley School of
Information are the factors, which have motivated me to choose UC Berkley for my graduate studies.

Moreover, I feel I am responsible for making a big move in this field and this scholarship will give me a big
chance to be one day someone who is remembered for his innovations. I think it is our responsibility to
leave something in inheritance to the world and upcoming generations. This is the only way to make this
world a better place.

I would offer my leadership skills, a strong educational background and desire to go one-step further than
the others would. I have the right academic record, the right skills and attitude to succeed and I am
convinced that this program is the right stepping-stone for my professional ambitions.
