Embracing Absurdity in Life's Meaning

The document discusses Albert Camus and existentialism. It notes that Camus rejected the idea that each person is responsible for creating their own meaning in life. Instead, Camus believed that while life is inherently meaningless, people still share a common human nature and goals, such as seeking meaning. The document provides an example of how some people live without worrying about finding meaning in life or what happens after death, and instead focus on being alive in the present moment. It also includes new vocabulary words and a short response discussing Camus' view that while the world lacks inherent meaning, our lives can still have value through how we choose to live.

Main Ideas

 The question Camus start to think about: Is life meaningless?

 It talks about existentialism and how each one of us is responsible to create our own
meaning
 Camus rejected existentialism thoughts, he argued that people burn with a shared
human nature which means that each one had common goals
 One of our goals is to seek out meaning
 The philosophy of the absurd is that life is inherently useless, so Camus start to think
about how to leave without meaning

How can we connect the TED to our reality?

In my opinion, importaculys people are a good example since they don’t care about the
opinion, actions, words, behaviors, and gestures of others, not because they don´t think there
important, but because they stop giving up their power to any external fact that could steal
their peace and happiness, these people only live life without looking for meaning, they are
satisfied with knowing that they are alive here and now without looking at how they could
come to this world from a religious sense, or what can happen after the death or whether
there is any sense or reason to be alive.

In 150 words ask the question: If the world is meaningless, could our lives still hold value?

Camus rejects the formula of an act of faith in God, in history or in reason,

which is why he simultaneously opposed Christianity, Marxism and
existentialism. He did not stop fighting against all the ideologies and
abstractions that separate man from the human. This he defined as the
philosophy of the absurd.
According to what Camus says, (with whom I agree with his thoughts) so that
the world and life have no meaning, life just keeps going, what you must do is
accept the absurdity of life and continue living with this in mind
Normally we constantly ask ourselves the meaning of life, but life has the
meaning that you want to give it since it does not really have any meaning in
general.
Another question that Camus posed is: if life has no meaning and is an absurd
concept, is the logical way out is suicide? Camus made it clear that he did not
think this, since he chooses to live despite the lack of explanation of the sense
of everything, it is the most genuine expression of our freedom.
