Every day we are faced with multiple and unpredictable challenges and adversities of
life. But the way we decide to respond or react to those certain occurrences is what will
shape us- our feelings, attitudes, actions and our capabilities to deal with the reality of
life. It all lies within ourselves on how we respond to be successful or not. We can
choose the life we want to be no matter how tough it can get.
Always look at the positive sides of every situation. I am an optimistic person, life is a
way better when we always start looking at the positive side of things instead of the
negative side all the time and focus on looking for the opportunities in every difficulty.
Secondly, I learn to manage my emotions and reactions. Many of us continue to
experience higher levels of stress, and anxieties most especially these challenging
times dealing with this crisis brought by Covid-19 pandemic. It is important to practice
emotional control, most especially as someone like me with a history of anger and
emotional outburst. Have peace of mind. Third, I make sure to have time to share or
communicate with other people, most especially my family and friends. Connecting and
having fun conversations with family or friends is very important. There is so much that
is hard in life right now, so much that is ugly, unjust and scary. But one of the silver
linings of these challenging times-both collectively and personally is the joy and
gratitude I have for the love, the moments and time I spent with my family dealing with
the new normal. I am very thankful for they exercise a very important role in my life and
while dealing with this crisis. Lastly, I always ask for the guidance of the Lord. Prayer is
the most powerful tool we have right now that makes the impossible possible. I know
God has a plan for everything that is happening or may happen and we need to trust in
Him when times get hard.
