1. Two applicants are competing for an encoding job which requires a high
degree of accuracy. Under time pressure they are not allowed to edit their
work before printing a hard copy. Samples of their work are studied to
measure the number of typing errors. They make per page. The results
are as follows:

Find the mean and the standard deviation of the number of typing errors
