PROCEDURE FOR HSE RISK ASSESSMENT

Team for HSE Risk Assessment

HSE Risk Assessment shall be conducted by a team of persons who have a thorough knowledge
of the work to be assessed. Team members shall include Section In-charge, Site Engineer,
HSEO, Subcontractors & Workmen. PM & BU-HSEM may also be consulted.

Implementation Procedure for HSE Risk Assessment

Input for HSE Risk Assessment


The input for conducting the HSE Risk Assessment shall include
 List of work activities
 List of machinery and tools used
 Records of past incidents
 Relevant legislations, codes of practice or specifications
 Details of existing control measures
 Feedback from staff, clients, suppliers, interested parties
 Other information such as MSDS, manufacturer’s instruction manual
 Copies of any relevant previous risk assessments
Identification of Health & Safety Hazards, Environmental Aspects
The following points shall be taken into account while identifying Health & Safety Hazards,
Environmental Aspects
 Hazards originating outside the workplace capable of adversely affecting the health and
safety of persons under the control of organization within the workplace.
 Environmental aspects created in the vicinity of the workplace by work-related
activities under the control of the organization.
 Human behaviour, capabilities and other human factors.
 Infrastructure, equipment and materials at the workplace, whether provided by us or
others.
 Changes or proposed changes in the organization, its activities, or materials.
 Modifications to the HSE management system, including temporary changes and their
impacts on operations, processes & activities.
 Design of work areas, processes, installations, machinery / equipment, operating
procedures and work organization, including their adaptation to human capabilities.
