Unit 5: Celebrations Lesson: Writing an article (essay)
Last summer my family and I went to my cousin’s wedding ceremony which took
place in Tetouan.
First of all, the wedding was celebrated in a big decorated and lovely place. After
exchanging greetings and congratulations with the couple’s parents, my mother and I sat
around a table. The guests were divided by gender. Women were wearing beautiful
caftans and takchitas. As for men, they were wearing Djelabbas or modern suits.
After that, the groom and the bride were coming. All guests were excited to
welcome them. The groom was wearing a stunning Djelabba and the bride was wearing a
beautiful caftan and heavy jewelry. My brother and I were dancing and singing while
my mother was drinking mint tea and talking to other women. They also served dishes
like pastille, meat, desserts, fried chicken and lemonades.
We really spent an amazing time there. We took a lot of pictures with the bride
and the groom. It was really an amazing day because we had a lot of fun. We were so
happy. It was the best wedding ever.
