INTRODUCTION You are invited to participate
in a research study conducted
by GROUP 1-TM 4A, at the
University of the Immaculate
Conception, because you fit
the inclusion criteria for
informants of our study. Your
participation is completely
voluntary. Please read the
information below, and ask
questions about anything you
do not understand, before
deciding whether to
participate. Please take as
much time as you need to
read the consent form. You
may also decide to discuss
participation with your family
or friends. If you decide to
participate, you will be asked
to sign this form. You will be
given a copy of this form.
PURPOSE OF THE This research aims to describe

of pandemic-affected hotel
workers in terms of their
socio-economic and
demographic profile,
psychological and
organizational factors.
Moreover, it will illuminate
their aspirations and coping
mechanism amidst the crisis.
STUDY PROCEDURES If you volunteer to participate
in this study, you will be asked
to participate via online
interview that will last
approximately 15-30 minutes
per participant. The
scheduled session will depend
on the participants’ time
availability. You will be
informed beforehand that the
interview will be recorded to
capture all important
information given by them
given that measures to
protect their identity will be
observed. The audio and video
recorded will be stored on a
password protected drive for a
maximum of 5 years and will
be properly disposed of by the
lead researcher.
POTENTIAL RISKS You may feel discomfort or

privacy is at risk because this
study will directly evaluate or
assess your personal struggles
and aspirations amidst
pandemic, however you can
withdraw to be a participant
from the study. You may also
feel discomfort in answering
the questionnaire because you
are unfamiliar with the words,
so you may opt not to answer
questions that make you feel
any psychological or emotional
distress. The researchers
value your participation and
will place your welfare as
their highest priority during
the course of the study.
REIMBURSEMENT As a sign of gratitude for
AND COMPENSATION helping the researchers in
accomplishing the study, you
will be acknowledged and
given token for your
participation as a qualified
participant. This token will be
a Php 30.00 prepaid load to
reimburse the time you have
allocated to participate. The
token will be sent to your
phone number after the online
interview. In this way, any
possible physical contacts
from other people will be
prevented as a precaution for
the pandemic.
POTENTIAL This study can generate
BENEFITS TO relevant information which
PARTICIPANTS/AND can be useful to public and
TO SOCIETY private administrators, hotel
employees, and Tourism and
Hospitality Industry in
general. The results,
discussions and findings from
this study can spark evidence-
based information which can
be used by tourism agencies
and department such as
Department of Tourism for
policy debate and initiative
for policy proposal regarding
the effects of the pandemic to
the work ethics and attitude
of hotel employees. This study
will enable hotel employees
and other people with jobs
affected by the pandemic to
be heard, have their story as a
source of inspiration to those
who might have lost the will
to continue serving the
industry due to the effect of
pandemic and will drive their
desire to work hard.
DATA PRIVACY AND RA 10173 or the Data Privacy
CONFIDENTIALITY Act protects individuals from
unauthorized processing of
personal information. The
researchers will adhere to this
law in order to protect the
data privacy and
confidentiality of all the
respondents. Any identifiable
information obtained in
connection with this study will
remain confidential, except, if
necessary, to protect your
rights or welfare. This
certificate means that the
researcher can resist the
release of information about
your participation to people
who are not connected with
the study. When the research
results are published or
discussed in conferences, no
identifiable information will
be used. In addition, since the
data gathering process will be
conducted via online
platform, the researchers will
highly secure the data
obtained in a password
protected computer after
immediate retrieval from the
survey software provider
(Google meet). In addition,
the access of data will be
restricted to the researchers
only.
