1. Search and give brief information of one (1) Technopreneur product that is currently used.

GRAB
GRAB is an “app-based” ride service wherein the latter
provides ride services, delivery services, food and beverage
services and other on-demand taxi services with flat rate fees
based on the vehicle, city and the waiting time.

Anthony Tan and Tan Hooi Ling spun the idea of building a ride-
hailing company, Grab, while pursuing MBA at Harvard Business
School. Grab was initially conceived as a college project and had
bagged US$25,000 in prize money from the pitch contest
organised by the school.
Grab is formerly known as GrabTaxi since at that time taxi ride services are only
available. With their application, Grab allows you too book a ride hassle free. Also you can track
your rider if the latter is on the way to pick you up. Furthermore, Grab allows you to book a ride
service up to 7 days in advance utilizing the app and GPS regardless of the starting point and
drop off point.

Grab has been one of the essential applications since the world is experiencing health
crisis. The latter can now be utilized as a platform for paying bills, buying food, groceries and
other necessities in an affordable price. You can also shop with the app by browing through
numerous shops. Ever since Grab added more features to the application, these company has
been battling for supremacy in the region with their “Super App”. For many years, Grab is likely
to take the dormant position in the consumer industry, while offering everything on one-stop
platform, super app.

WILLIAM HENRY GATES III

Willian Henry Gates III also known as Bill Gates is an


American computer programmer and technopreneur who’s
one of the founders of Microsoft Corporation, the world’s
largest computer software company which became a
breakthrough in becoming one of the richest people in the
present.

Microsoft is a leading global market of computer software, hardware for computer,


mobile and gaming systems, and cloud services. It is a medium which enables the people to
access through various features like encoding, browsing on the world wide web, go shopping
online etc. through their personal computers, laptops and netbooks.

ELON MUSK

Elon Musk is a South African technopreneur who’s one of


the founders of Paypal and the CEO of SpaceX, main proponent
of launch vehicles and spacecraft. He is also the CEO of the
electric car manufacturer Tesla.

His astounding success has given rise to comparisons to other


visionary businessmen, such as Steve Jobs, Howard
Hughes, Henry Ford, and Bill Gates. After an often difficult
childhood, Musk developed a relentless work ethic (he is known
to work as many as 80 to 120 hours per week) and a tenacious, single-minded vision. As of 2021,
he has an estimated total net worth of $151 billion. He is surpassed only by Jeff Bezos as
the richest person in the world.

JEFF BEZOS

Jeffrey Prestin Bezos is an American technopreneur,


media proprietor, investor, and computer engineer who brought
a huge contribution in the growth of e-commerce as the founder
and CEO of Amazon, an online merchant/market of wide variety
of goods and products. Amazon has been the largest retailer on
internet which offer services and goods all over the world.

His successful business ventures have made him one of


the richest people in the world. Not only that Bezos owns The
Washington Post and Blue Origin, an aerospace company that
is developing rockets for commercial use.
