IGCSE Report Writing Guide

REPORT WRITING

Purpose
To inform about an event.

Audience
Teacher (formal style should be used).

Word count
● 150-200 words

Structure (Avoid “I/we” until the final paragraph)


Title Examples: Can Tho Trip Report / VAS Olympics Report
● Keep it simple and straightforward!

IGCSE REPORT WRITING TASK

Your class recently completed a Masterchef cooking competition. Your teacher has asked you to write a report about the
competition and make suggestions for next year.

Here are two comments from your classmates:

The comments above may give you some ideas, and you can also use some ideas of your own.

Your report should be between 150 and 200 words long.

You will receive up to 8 marks for the content of your report, and up to 8 marks for the language used.
