Design and operating principle

■ Media chambers of the ⊕ and ⊖ side are separated by the diaphragm element

■ Metal bellows isolate the media chambers from the atmosphere

■ The pressure difference between ⊕ and ⊖ side leads to an axial pressure element deflection

■ The deflection is transmitted to the movement via the link

■ The movement converts the deflection into a pointer rotation

Overload safety
Diaphragm elements have a relatively large actuating force and, due to the annular clamping of the element, they are less
sensitive to vibration in comparison with Bourdon tubes. Diaphragm elements can be subject to a higher overload of up to 10
times the full scale value, up to a max. of 40 bar, through load take-up points with metallic seating.
