THE ABSTRACT REASONING ABILITY (EST
(NONVERBAL)
The Abstract Reasoning Ability Test is intended to
‘measure intellectual skills that are not related to written and
spoken language (verbal skills). These skills include deductive
‘and inductive thinking and critical and analytical processes.
There are no words used but rather drawings and
figures presented in a particular sequential scheme. The
student is asked to analyze the figures and derive a pattern
such that he/she is able to supply the succeeding or the
missing part or determine which does not belong to a group of
figures. This test includes items on series, matrices and
Classification.
Some palterns are on letter series, number series,
letter and number series which can be ascending of
descending. Other patlers are designed as repetition, intervals,
analogy, mirror image, flipping, rotation, alternation,
progression, superimposition or a combination of tricky
