Notes: Segment Rules This segment is mandatory for all transaction types.

Element Rules Data Element 1004 should be a unique authorisation number which will
be provided by Indian Customs upon registration of a vessel and should be the same on
all subsequent transactions, if any.
Data Element 1225 is used to identify the type of transaction. In Phase 1 of the system
implementation only code ‘9’ (original) will be used to send the original message. If
there are changes to the manifest after submission of the electronic message, Customs
will process these manually.
