1. Why is globalization a positive development?
For globalization has positive effect on economic growth, contributing to rising
living standards and the reduction of extreme poverty across the world.
2. How do competition and profit contribute to the negative effects of globalization?
It depends on few situations when the few ones in the competition gets greedy by
the profit they would gain, that they want to corrupt or control the system in their
own favor by using all means even if it means not following the ethics.
3. Are your personal moral principles still relevant in a globalized world? Explain
your answer.
Yes. My personal moral principles is a part of me, which I will use in my lifetime,
for this is what guides me, to do things that I will not regret nor forget for it
convince me that I did and I’ll continue to do the right thing.
4. Are the moral problems due to globalization discussed above affecting the
political, social, economic, and environmental conditions of the Philippines? If
yes, in what way? If no, why not?
Yes. The moral problems we face, gives us difficulties on picking choice or side,
for example in political, the tensions USA and its rivals because of that our
government of beginning to distance itself from the US which we consider an ally
since we don’t want to get in trouble with neither side. In social for example like
the latest election, our people in our society are divided into many sides, and it’s
just sad for those who planted hatred towards fellows Filipinos just because of
their differences. In economic, for example it’s just sad the government is
providing support to foreign investors to gain more profit than supporting the
local. While in environmental, people are being ignorant to the fact that most the
technology we got are comfortable and make life easier but causing damage to
the environment.
