GENERATION GAP: INTRO

Z: No this won’t work

K: What’s wrong Zery?
Z: It’s my elderly Thuy! They kept shortening my curfew and leisuree
time. Even though i tried my best to change their mind but it’s no use!
they are too conservative and always set in their ways , i got no chance
to aproach them.

K: Maybe you used the wrong method then. Well, you see my
friend .Take a look at this world,it’s rapidly developing and so do
humanity. Each generation has seen new changes and things that the
older generations have not. This is exactly what creates a generation gap.
It is how one generation differs from the other. It is quite predictable to
have an age bias . Why? Because it shows that human is evolving and
changing for the better. However, sometimes this gap impacts our lives
wrongly and this happens in both extended and nuclear families.

K: Let me intoduce myself first, my name is Khang, the head of group 3,

which consists of 5 members
namely-----------------------------------------------. Foremost, Let me start
by asking a few questions. So, what kind of family are you living with,
a nuclear family or an extended one? Have you ever had any conflicts
with your family members? Do you deeply understand what you're
dealing with? And if you're struggling through those dilemmas, then
you've probably talked to the right person, So lend us an ear because
today we’re going to offer you our presentation about that hot potato.
But don't expect anything from me because today's influencer will be a
member of my team,Thuy.
T:Hello there , im here to help you !
Z:Oh great! Nice to meet you
T:Me too! So before i can recommend you some of the solution, you
should understand what caused the conflict first.
Z:uhh... I don’t really know, I just think that we were too different.
T:Ahh yes difference , congratulations, you have found your first
problem
Problems in your family?
T: Obviously, the first difference that we can see is each person has their
very own perspective so that mismatched faith arises.
Z: So you mean that everyone has different conceptions and beliefs
because they were born in different time periods? But why?
T: Well, people born in different periods and conditions is also have
their views based on the circumstances they have experienced, some are
open-minded, others are very cautious, and there are many parents in it.
Many conservative parents have strong opinions about conventional
stuff and most of them usually expect us to follow in their footsteps.
Speaking of expectation, It's every parents dream to nurture their
children to be the best that they can be in life. Parents therefore have
expectations that they hope their children will live up to.
Patterns of life have changed continuously over time .There are vast
differences in terms of attitudes, experiences between people born a
certain amount of time so it would be quite natural if a conflict was
formed.

The most common result of this clash is distance relationship. Generally,
a generation gap is mostly seen between parents and kids. It shows that
parents often fail to understand their kids and vice versa. Progenitors
usually follow the traditions and norms.
Likewise, they hope their children will conform to the societal norms as
they have. But the kids are far-sighted in modern age and with a broad
outlook they refuse to accept these conventional ways.
This is one of the main reasons why the conflict begins. They do not
reach a solution and thus distance themselves because of
misunderstandings. As a result there are mistake at both ends. The adults
should try not to impose the same expectations which grown-ups get
from them. Similarly, the kids must not dictate that their parents are
outright wrong but try to understand where this is coming from.
In other words, just because there is a difference of opinion does not
mean that people give up on relationships. It is high time both parties
understand that no one is completely right or wrong. They can both
reach a middle ground and sort it out. Acceptance and understanding are
the keys here.

So, in such situations, how should you deal with them? Honestly, We
have no idea about the exact solution because as you know, everyone's
issues is different, but we'll still try to suggest you our best guidance. We
can bridge the generation gap by creating a safe environment for people
to express themselves. Try to understand and accept each other for what
they are rather than fitting them in a box.
Furthermore, there must be a friendly relationship between the two
generations. The kids must be given the space to indicate themselves
freely and also trust their parents enough to open the opportunity for
them to accept their child. Most important, there is no need to set
boundaries between the two parties. Instead of debating, it is better to
understand the point of view. This will result in great communication
and both will be happy irrespective of the generation gap.
Conclusion:
In short, a generation gap happens due to the constant changes in the
world. While we may not stop the evolution of the world, we can
strengthen the bond and bridge the gap it creates. The generation gap
is a very critical concept that occurs because of the different natures of
every person. No one can end this generation gap but obviously, you
can opt for some way in which it can be reduced. There should be
efforts made by both sides to get a better relationship between two
people. The generation gap may cause conflict between families but if
you try `to understand the thinking of another person and choose a
path in between then you can get a happy living [Link] elderly
with you in your family is a blessing, you can talk with them and let
them know your views and understand your ways to approach a
particular situation.
