CHAPTER V
THE MARKET DEMAND AND SUPPLY, INDUSTRY DYNAMICS
AND MACRO ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

This section of business plan shows the assessment and ascertaining of

the different factors that may affect the whole business enterprise.

The Market Demand and Supply

Pie Graph of People who like to eat food made out of

Potato

Potato Mojo
Potato Cheese Roll

The business proponents surveyed 30 respondents and 93.3% of the

respondents said that they like eating foods specially made out of vegetables.
Since the business offers two different finger food, the respondents were also
asked to choose between the two and it resulted that 43.3% of the respondents
said that they preferred Potato Mojo while 56.7% of them said that they preferred
Potato Cheese Roll. 79.6% of the respondents also said that it is also good to
make a shake out of cucumber and calamansi since it is quite new. Meanwhile,

Based on the survey conducted, Potaculious should focus on producing
more potato Cheese Roll than Potato Mojo, for it shows greater demand, thus
14

pursue the customers to try something new in terms of the flavor of the shake.
However, the business still recognized the 79.6% respondents who like
Cucumansi Shake.

SPEET Analysis

a. Social Environment

The population of Paliparan III City of Dasmariñas, Cavite has been

estimated at around 60,000 and continues to grow as time passes by. The
continuous growth of the population also increments to the poor health
condition of the people living around the area. Various reports also show a
sudden increase in diseases related to eating unhealthy food
Potaculicious is of great advance and distinction compared to other
businesses. Potacuclious main goal is to provide healthy and nutritious
finger foods and smoothies to the locality of Paliparan especially to the
students and teachers who will be the main target customers of the
business. Aside from potato's undeniable nutrients, it will be offered at a
cheap price which the customers can really afford.

b. Political Environment
The political concerns are the business registrations and the legal
matters that the business must abide by. Establishment of employment
laws and application for a business permit to fully grant its operation also
needed to prioritize.

c. Economic Environment

The economic aspect of the business will be affected due to

taxation implemented by the governance system and the interest
exchange rate. The economy of the country will also affect the food
industry. A good economy is a good indicator that the people are living
well-enough to afford the services offered by the business. However, if
the economy fluctuates and the inflation rate increases, the production
16

process will also be affected, especially if the prices of the main

ingredients will increase dramatically.

d. Ecological Environment

Potaculicious will follow the environmental regulations of the City of

Dasmariñas such as the ‘No to single-use plastic’ and the use of reusable
materials in packaging the product. Potaculious will ensure the proper
segregation of wastes especially the used-oil. Environmental regulations
will be strictly monitored throughout the operation of the business.

e. Technological Environment

The business will still have a long way to run in achieving all the
new advanced types of machinery in production. However, the
implementation of technology can be taken effectively when it comes to
the management of the business, for it makes the tasks easy, efficient
and time- saving to finish. Technology also paved the way of
opportunities for making more creative and enthusiastic advertisements
that can persuade customers to buy the product.
17

CHAPTER VI
THE PRODUCT AND SERVICES OFFERINGS

At the present, various types of food are emerging and continually

innovating. With its scrumptious taste and aesthetic presentations, no wonder
why people are buying it. However, some of these foods are though pleasing as
it looks, it covers the unhealthiness of it. That is why J4-Angle decided to put up
a business that offers tasty finger food and luscious smoothies that are
affordable and most importantly is healthy to our body.

Potaculicious is a food service type of business that will offer finger foods
and shake made out of vegetables and fruits. The business has three options:
potato cheese roll, potato mojo, and cucumansi shake (Cucumber and
Calamansi) are affordable and most
importantly is healthy to our body.

The business began thinking of

finger foods that are not quite familiar
with the target customers in the area.
The business will come up with
innovating potatoes into potato mojo

and potato cheese roll which are not

commonly found within the community
where the business will be
established. Potato is notable for its
relatively cheap price, richness in
nutrients, and the main ingredient that
can be innovated in many ways. Potato
18

is rich in iron, calcium, and magnesium that helps the body to builds and
maintains bone structure. Potassium, vitamin C, and potato fiber are also
abundant in potato making it as good food for your heart. The Potato Mojo will
be flavored with barbeque powder to add more taste. But the customers can still
avail the unflavored potato mojo.

The business will also offer

Cucumansi Shake. It is a shake made
out of cucumber
and calamansi juice. The business
noticed that three of the business
competitors are also selling shake.
However, the main difference is that
these competitors are selling shake
made out of powdered flavors like
chocolate, cookies and cream and the
like. Potaculicious decided to sell shake
out of real fruits like cucumber and
calamansi. Cucumber is relatively low in calories and good as anti-oxidant which
can prevent the accumulation of harmful free radicals and also reduced the risk
of chronic diseases. It is also good at sustaining hydration and aid to lose
weight. Meanwhile, calamansi is a potential source of vitamin C, eliminate many
of the toxins in your body, and improve your metabolism.

Potaculicious aims to provide quality, delicious, affordable, and healthy
