BIOGRAPHY
Dr Chua is the Head of Programme for Artificial Intelligence under the School of Electrical
Engineering and Artificial Intelligence at Xiamen University Malaysia. Dr Chua received his PhD
from Multimedia University in 2018. He has 12 years of working experience in software
industries and 6 years of research experience in academic institutions. During servicing for
the software industries, Dr Chua main focuses were delivering Business Analytics, Security
solutions, and software systems related to E-commerce such as Business to Business (B2B),
Business to Consumer (B2C), and Consumer to Consumer (C2C). He started to participate in
academic-related research in 2006, joining efforts together with researchers across Malaysia
from different universities to deliver Natural Language Processing common tools specifically
for the Malay Language under the National Language Technology Research Cluster. He is
specialized in Natural Language Processing and Machine Translation. He wishes to share all
the knowledge and experiences he has gained to prepare, inspire and nurture young talents
who have the great potential to contribute to the development of the society and global
human races.
