GUEST SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE
A tourism director is in charge of attracting tourists to a specific area or place. They might plan tourists
to a specific area or place. They might plan tourist friendly events, activities, and services with nearby
companies and groups. Their objective is to attract more tourists to the area each year.

Job Description
The Guest Services Representative, Premium Outlet Center, is responsible for the service of the Center’s
customers, both tenants and shoppers, by being able to answer questions regarding the Center at all
times. The Guest Services Representative plays a critical role in driving sales at the center by maximizing
the customer’s shopping experience through supervision of a well-trained, knowledgeable, friendly
customer service staff that exceeds the customer’s expectations. In addition, the Guest Services
Representative routinely recommends other amenities.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
· Serve as “Seller” function of the Simon Property Group retail products or offerings, other payment
products, and / or other center programs
· Responsible for representing Simon to customers by providing high quality and efficient service
· Responsible for maintaining a professional physical appearance of Simon Guest Services including
marketing materials, signage, displays and ensuring that all displayed information is current and relevant
· Coordinate with the Assistant Director of Marketing and Business Development to ensure all training of
staff is completed and that staff members adhere to policies and procedures
· Service our customers, both tenants and shoppers, by being available to answer questions regarding
the Center
· Provide directions to stores, Food Court, restrooms, etc.
· Assure appropriate reception upon arrival of tour groups
· Support and help coordinate, as required, onsite promotional efforts and events.
· Provide wheelchairs and rent strollers to customers as needed
· Understand all Center, Regional and Corporate marketing initiatives involving the Guest Services staff
· Communicate with tour operators
· Knowledgeable about all aspects of SBV corporate and partner programs in order to ensure products
and programs are sold to customers with flawless execution
· Serve as a liaison to tenants in communicating SBV and local marketing initiatives
· Ability to capture additional information from consumers transacting or not transacting at Simon Guest
Services (e.g. email or mobile information, charity donations); in addition to administering research
questionnaires
· Perform “roving” concierge duties to maximize our interaction and customer service to shoppers
· Maintain sufficient inventory of forms and supplies
· Organize and ensure sufficient inventory of marketing materials
· Order, organize and maintain inventory of tourism brochures
· Ensure the table tent program is managed
· Maintain lost and found according to Simon Policy and Procedures
· Create a work environment that supports innovation, creativity and teamwork
· Lead and provide guidance to the team of guest services professionals to enhance the shopping
experience for shoppers
· Encourage, through role modeling and active support, a guest services team that readily accepts and
adopts change
· Complete all tasks required of Guest Services Representatives flawlessly
· Weekend availability is required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum High School Diploma required, Associate’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
· Minimum of 1 to 2 years of guest services experience in fast-paced environment
· Must be fluent in English (oral & written); Proficiency in at least one other language is an asset (French,
Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, German)
· Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
· Proof of valid Canadian Citizenship or permanent residence in Canada.

Experience:

Additionally, directors of tourism could be trained while working in their positions. Learning about the
company's rules and practices, as well as the software and technology they employ, may be a part of this
training.
Directors of tourism are employed in a range of places, such as convention and visitor’s bureaus,
state and local tourism departments, and chambers of commerce. They might also work for
resorts, hotels, amusement parks, and other tourist hot spots. They may spend some time at an
office, but they also spend a lot of time travelling to meet with possible customers, go to
conventions and trade events, and check out potential tourist attractions. They might also go
meet with regional and local leaders to talk about tourism-related issues. Although they may put
in longer hours to complete deadlines or attend meetings or events on the weekends and after
hours, tourism directors often work a conventional 40-hour week. Tourism development itself
plays a role in further developing which can be help to develop the whole community as a one
for example it works as a team of people to plan and execute tourism campaigns.
Job specification is that nowadays more people travel internationally, tourism directors will be
needed to plan and market attractions in their cities or states that appeal to international
visitors. Directors of tourism must possess a GED or at least a high school diploma. A bachelor's
degree in hospitality or a comparable discipline is often the educational path taken by tourism
directors. These programmers offer classes in marketing, sales, accounting, and economics as
well as hospitality management. Additionally, some tourism directors decide to earn a master's
degree in hospitality management. Directors in the tourism sector normally have at least five
years of experience. They might have held a range of positions, such as tour guide, travel
advisor, or hotel manager. Before becoming a tourism director, they can have held a managerial
position, such a hotel manager. Certifications allow professionals to prove their qualifications
and increase their earning potential. Tourism directors can earn certifications to gain more
theoretical knowledge of their responsibilities and further their career advancement
opportunities. Workplace environment need to be always positive so that work become more
easy and interesting and emotionally one must be so strong that whatever the situation is
nobody can break him or her.
I choose this job because I want to start my carrier in this field so that in future I will get
experience to become a tourism development director.
