(Teacher shows the tv ( Students are silently watching the

Very Good Class! That
commercial is for the probiotic
drink yakult.
Yakult is a drink that has good
bacteria called Lactobacillus.
This helps our stomach to have
a good digestion and helps
build our immunity.
Our topic today will be about
the Major Parts of the Digestive
System.
C. Presentation and Discussion
Now class we’re going to talk
about the major parts of the
digestive system.
Ruth kindly read the first part. The mouth is the beginning of the
digestive tract. In fact, digestion starts
here as soon as you take the first bite of
a meal. Chewing breaks the food into
pieces that are more easily digested,
while saliva mixes with food to begin the
process of breaking it down into a form
your body can absorb and use
Rhod kindly read the next part. Esophagus is a hollow, muscular tube
that carries food and liquid from your
throat to your stomach. Muscles in your
esophagus propel food down to your
stomach.
The next part is the stomach. Food ( Students listen to the teacher)
hangs out in the stomach for
around four hours. While the food
sits there, more enzymes go to
work on it, breaking down things
like proteins that our bodies can
use. The stomach kills a lot of bad
bacteria as well, so we don't get
sick.
The next part is the small intestine.
The first part of the small intestine
works with juices from the liver and
pancreas to continue to break
down our food. The second part is
where the food gets absorbed from
the intestine and into our body
through the blood.
Next is the The liver and
pancreas. The liver provides bile
(stored in the gall bladder) that
helps break up fat into smaller bits.
The pancreas provides additional
enzymes to help digest all sorts of
food. The liver also processes the
digested food from your blood
before it gets sent to various
places in your body to be used.
Erica kindly read the next part. The gallbladder is a small, pear-shaped
organ on the right side of your abdomen,
just beneath your liver. The gallbladder
holds a digestive fluid called bile that's
released into your small intestine.
( Students listen to the teacher)
Jenecil kindly read the next part. Large Intestine is where any food that the
body doesn't need or can't use is sent to
the large intestine and later leaves the
body as waste.
Ea kindly read the last part. The anus is the last part of the digestive
tract. It’s at the end of the rectum. It's
where stool comes out of the body.
D. Group Activity

representatives in your group.
