1. What is the importance of teaching arts in the elementary grades?
Teaching arts in elementary is a big help to the learners. This enables the learner talent
and skills develop and nurture as early as their age. Elementary graders are easy to teach
because they have clear minds. They love to play but art creation is part of it. This is also part
of leisure. Having this in the classroom fosters learner self-confidence to be grateful for the
gift of talent and by taking them to the next level. The things to consider in making of art are
its elements. A simple shade of color is an art. A line is an art. Making zigzag pattern is also
an art. The point of view is that art in elementary grades makes them the best in this field.
This can be taught from a simple to complex teaching form of arts lead to them to
enhance more and explore their minds with creative and immersive work. For instance,
various lines are present in the art making. To catch viewer’s eye is all we need to do is to

add color through the use of crayons, water color, colored pencil and pastel and creative
applications of elements and principles of art. Such, not all learners have this kind of forte
but this can be learn if a they have the heart to learn and be on it. By means of art as well,
this releases their burdens, expressing their thoughts from the art they are making.
Thus, art holds a significant role in our life. It helps in all aspects of life. Though art, we
can experience the world of unknown into known. Art boost learners self-esteem and
confidence because they are not likely good in academics but best in this field. The
imagination really shapes our mind to love the essence of creating an art. It gives meaning to
our flavorless life because we can be able to use our emotions as inspirations to create
spectacular art.
2. How do elements of arts affect one’s creation?
A bland food is like a lifeless art. No taste, no good, no meaning and no life because that is
what it should be. Though, with ingredients but lack of passion and love, creation is useless.
The notion of elements of art is making a certain work a beauty to hold. A single line is an art.
A single stroke of color is also an art which means all the things around us belongs to the world
of art. All we have to do is to create something more, far from expectation to shock and catch
viewer’s apple of the eye. This badly affects one's creation in a way that an art needs deep
meaning and emotions because the creation bland. The use of art elements add colors and spice
to a creation.
Thus, when creating art it should be complete ingredients in elements of art with the
combination of passion and love. The elements of arts should really be present in all creation. It

may sound basics yet immersive impact. Never ever forget that elements are significant to have
momentous creation.
3. What are the principles of arts? Explain each briefly.
Balance refers to the visual weight of the elements of the composition. It is a sense that the
painting feels stable and "feels right." Imbalance causes a feeling of discomfort in the viewer.
Emphasis is the center of attraction.
Variety is about varying elements and objects in your image, to avoid making them look
boring for the viewer’s eye.
Proportion refers to relative size. It emphasizes the relationship between one part of a design
and another part or to the whole design.
Harmony is the sense that all of the elements of your design fit together that immediately
catches attention.
Rhythm suggests movement or action.
Movement refers to the way the eye travels over a design which means an art seems moving.
4. Name 3 teaching strategies in teaching art. Explain how each one is being done in the class
setting.
1) Technology as teaching tool
The era of 21st century is considered as digital literacy in which using various inventions are
needed. The leanings are not limited but needs prior guidance to spare from bad sites or
scammers. As for teachers, it is to deliver instructions, exams, quizzes and etc. This what make

the works of teachers and students easy and faster. Since pandemic happened, we are taught
more to be literate in manipulating technogy as learning tool.
It is being done through online learning. Specifically, it uses online-apps to help teachers to
deliver their instructions in an engaging manner and perspective. The meeting of student’s is
through Google Meet, Zoom and etc. If exams or activities are given online applicaions are
present to help students pass their ativities on time. Through the use of technology, we are ale to
learn just like in a face to face class.
2. Cooperative Learning
This strategy is through groups of students and can be a think-pair-share. It seems to be done
when a teacher wants to have an activity for the class. For instance, in an Art class, teacher wants
her students to create an art that symbolizes who they are as person. It is with the teacher how
many groups of students she wants to have. In this way, the students are to collaborate and do
teamwork to shareideas and thoughts to accomplish the task. A task is easy and simple if the
sudents working together as ONE. There may be disadvantage but focus on the goal positively
3. Discussion
This strategy seems commin though effective. This one is one of the reasons why students
learn. The teachers are to discuss, explain and emphasize the topics and share their insights to
what it is all about. The students in the moment are to listen and participates class discussions so
as for them to comprehend and understand the topic being taught to them.
It can be done for instance, a teacher has to follow the curriculum guide for today’s topic and
plan what to do to have an efficient and effective teachings. The topic is all about the elements of
art. The students may be confused at first but with the help of the teachers through chalk,

blackboards and instructional materials to show the topic in the class. The class will participate
as teacher asks question aout the lesson. The teachers follow their lesson plan for their discussion
effective.
