Metallurgical Test Report: Specification Observation

The metallurgical test report summarizes test results for a steel part from Premier Steel. Hardness and standard block value tests were within specification ranges. Microstructure analysis found a grain size of 6 to 7 and acceptable macrostructure. Inclusion ratings for sulfides, alumina, silicates and globular oxides were below specification limits. Micrographs showed partly bainite microstructure with ferrite and the material was deemed acceptable depending on machinability of the part. The part passed all tests.
