Grandma Tribute
I’ve never known what it’s like to lose someone close to you, but now I do. I’ve had
friends who lost their fathers and mothers but have kept it to themselves. Now I’m going
through this experience and it really hurts. Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve known
Grandma to be disciplined, kind, gentle, and dedicated to whatever she does. Anytime I
came back from school in my primary years, she was the one to make sure I do my
homework when my mom was too busy. And in junior high, I would always go to her for
help with my homework. And then during B.E.C.E., she was always on me. Even when I
wasn’t in the right mood, she made sure I sat down with her and solved past questions
no matter how many times I would frown or pout.
She was funny and used to tell us some jokes when my brother and I were moody. She
also loved to sing hymns for us. She used to tell me about her life when I was in senior
high school even though it was for a short time, I still remember all the advice she used
to give me. Grandma always took my education even more serious than I did, and was
always there for me in every stage of my life up till now. I miss Grandma dearly, and it
hurts that I didn’t get to spend the last moments with her before her departure. I wished
I paid more attention to the Bible verses she always used to send us on WhatsApp.
But she is in paradise now, and won’t have to suffer anymore. Thank you for all the love
and support you showed for me, Grandma. I will always remember the words of wisdom
you gave my brother and I, and although life may not feel the same without you, I will
always kn0w that you are watching us from above.
Thank you, your first-born grandson.
