Night Stalker

Lining

Night Stalker is a melee hero, whose main attribute is Strength. He is ganker and
initiator, very powerful hero in midgame. Easy to play with and works great if you are new to
the game.

Void

Our only nuke that gives great damage and slows down the target. Mana cost and cool down are
not very big. We use this spell when we gank, and it’s better to use it on enemy’s carry in team
fights, so his attack speed will be reduced. We can harass enemy with this spell if we play solo mid.
This spell has micro-stun that cancels channeling spells, if enemy has no  Black King Bar.

This is interesting

 During the day whole damage is given, but slow down works only for 2 seconds.
 It does micro
 stun on target that allows us to cancel teleport or channeling spells.

Crippling Fear

We use it to prevent enemy from using his spells, or on enemy’s carry, so he will miss with chance
of 40%, Cool down is 12 seconds on the last level, and it works for 8 seconds which is pretty good.
This is interesting

 During the day it gives silence for 3 seconds and 10% miss chance.

Hunter in the Night

Passive ability that increases our attack speed, and move speed but only when night comes. This is
the ability that makes us such a great ganker, who is able to chase any hero.

Darkness

Creates artificial night that gives us all the bonuses. It is used for ganks in midgame, and for team
fights in late game.

 This spell not stops the time and not makes real night last longer.
 Aghanim's Scepter upgrades this skill so we can see as clear during the night as we do during
the day; landscape and trees is not an obstacle for us.
 Heroes Bounty Hunter/ Slithereen Guard/ Dwarven Sniper when casting Track/ Amplify Damage/
Assassinate on Balanar that has  Aghanim's Scepter on him, get the same vision radius as
Balanar during the skill lasts.
 Using Darkness we will limit view range of enemies on 25% (regard to heroes, creeps, wards and
buildings)
Early game for Night Stalker(up to 15 minute)

What I should do?

The best lane for Night Stalker is mid, because we can level fast here and it’s easy to gank
both top and bottom lanes. First we buy  Iron Branch and  Tango, to get fast  Bottle.
Support should buy courier so you don’t have to go to base and waste time.

We purchase  Bottle and upgrade  Iron Branch to  Magic Wand. After this we


get  Phase Boots, starting with  Boots of Speed, because we have nice attack speed
and 24 damage is a great addition, and the ability to walk through creeps may save our life or
help chase the enemy.

We try to last hit all the creeps, to farm gold for items. We should not forget about rune control
and recharge  Bottle. If supports do not place  Observer Ward, then you should buy 
Observer Ward and place it on Rune. After level 5 you may play more aggressive using Void
on your enemy.

Middle game for Balanar(from 15 till 35 minute)

 
 

What I should do?

Would be great if you will buy  Urn of Shadows before the first night so you would charge it,
and use during the ganks, or after them to heal. First serious item should be either 
Vanguard or  Armlet of Mordiggian.

It’s better to chose  Armlet of Mordiggian is better, but you got to know how to use it, this is
offensive item, but in skilled hands it gives great survivability. Because when we have low HP
we can turn it off and on thus we will get 500 HP.

Vanguard is completely defensive item that will help us to chase enemies under the tower
without losing too much HP.

Black King Bar is great for team fights, with it we will be able to take full part in fight,
instead of playing control role, it also will give us damage and health besides magic immunity.

We farm the lane till the first night and then we go to gank. On 7-8 level our void will take 40-
50% HP from those who played together on lane and have 4-5 level. We start with Void, and if
enemy is dangerous and has disables it’s better to use Crippling Fear on him. Do not forget to
use  Urn of Shadows. Gank should be done only in the night, and daytime is for farming.

Late game for Balanar(from 35 minute)

 
 

What I should do?

It’s better to end the game before 20+ levels, we should win earlier, but if we come close to late
game, we need  Aghanim's Scepter, it will let us see through the night, obstacles and
landscape, and also will give us HP/mana.

After this we need to buy either  Abyssal Blade or  Monkey King Bar. Both of them work
great with fast attack speed of Night Stalker,  Abyssal Blade is better,  Monkey King
Bar is a variant if enemies have heroes with evasion, misses or  Butterfly.

The last item will be  Heart of Tarrasque that will add a lot HP and damage. If after all these
we still have money, we can change  Armlet of Mordiggian/ Vanguard to  Assault
Cuirass, to help our team with auras and get a lot of attack speed.

On this game stage we should consume enemy’s damage. It’s better if we will consume
important spells than our carry. We should stay close to our team, especially if enemy has
abilities that strike through  Black King Bar. You should try to attack and disable enemy’s
carry, with  Abyssal Blade you can stun him for 2 seconds, and misses from Crippling Fear
will come in handy.
