Part II- Answer the following questions based on your opinion about Intercultural Marriage.

8. When you choose to enter a cross-cultural marriage, your spouse’s religious background may differ vastly from
yours. Explore this with your partner.

Would you be willing to convert?

Depending if the religion require it and if it’s true love, I would do it.
How do you want to raise your children?

I would raise my children to have free-will of their religion.

9. If you are marrying outside of your culture, there may be holidays that you unaware of. You don’t want to
offend your new in-laws by being culturally ignorant.

Whose holidays do you celebrate?


Christmas, Holy Week, Halloween.
Who will get time to spend with the children for holidays and perhaps on the weekends?
It will be equally distributed and the children will get to choose when to go or
when to not.
10. Ask yourselves these questions to help eliminate false expectations in your marriage with someone from
another culture.

Will the husband work and the wife stay at home?


No, it is old fashioned and disrespectful.
Does the wife want to work until she has children?
It will be her decision, if she feels like having the same energy and willpower to
work I’d let her be, its her life she will live it how she wants.
Will both parents work and a grandparent keep the child?
How will you raise a family?

Are you on the same page with how you want this to work?
