Section A

1. How many two digits numbers are divisible by 3 ?

OR
Find the number of natural numbers between 102 and 998 which are divisible by 2 and 5 both.
2. Solve the following quadratic equation for x:
4x2 – 4a2x + (a4 – b4) = 0
3. The mean of the following frequency distribution is 25. Find the value of p.

4. A cone of height 24 cm and radius of base 6 cm is made up of modelling clay. A child reshapes it in the
form of a sphere. Find the radius of the sphere.
5. Compute the mode for the following frequency distribution:

6. In the given figure, if ATO = 300 . Find ∠AOT and ∠AOB

OR
In the given figure, AB is the diameter of a circle with centre O and AT is a tangent. If LAOQ = 580,
find L ATQ.
Section B

7. If the sum of the first four terms of an AP is 40 and that of the first 14 terms is 280. Find the sum of its
first n terms.
8. A player is sitting on the top of a tower at height of 15 m. He observes the angle of depression of a ball
lying on the ground as 30°. Find the distance between the foot of the tower and the ball.
OR
Two poles of equal heights are standing opposite to each other on either side of a road, which is 100
m wide. From a point between them on the road, angles of elevation of their top are 30° and 60°. Find
the height of the poles and distance of point from poles. [ √3 = 1.73]
9. In the given figure, a circle is inscribed in a ΔABC, such that it touches the sides AB, BC, CA at points
D, E, F respectively. If the lengths of the sides AB, BC, CD are 15 cm, 11 cm and 12 cm
respectively, find the lengths of AD, BE and CF.

10. The hypotenuse of the right angled triangle is 6 m more than twice the shortest side. If the third side is
2 m less than the hypotenuse, then find all sides of the triangle.

Section C
11. Draw a pair of tangents to a circle with centre O of radius 4.6 cm which are inclined to each other at an
angle of 60°.
OR
Construct a tangent to a circle of radius 4 cm from a point on the concentric circle of radius 6 cm.
12. Find the mean of the following distribution.
Case Study-1
13. From a point P on the ground, the angle of elevation of the top of a 10 m tall building is 30°. A flag is
hoisted at the top of the building and the angle of elevation of the top of the flagstaff from P is 45°.

(i) Find the length of flagstaff. 2m

(ii) Find the distance of the building from the point P. 2m

Case Study-2
14. To make the learning process more interesting creative and innovative Shavya’s class teacher
brings clay in the classroom, to teach the topic. Surface Areas and Volumes. With clay, she forms a
cylinder of radius 4 cm and height 18 cm. Then, she moulds the cylinder into a sphere and ask some
question to students.
i) What is the radius of the sphere so formed? Also find its volume. 2m
ii) Find the ratio of the volume of the sphere to the volume of the cylinder. 2m
