STATIONARY ALUMINUM DOCKS

The Dura-LITE aluminum dock design combines

form with function in one of the strongest aluminum
dock frames available on the market. This is our
premium dock for use in medium to large bodies of
water, or for larger recreational boats. Everything
about the Dura-LITE is designed to be easy, low
maintenance and strong. The Dura-LITE frame has
a unique snap-on system for easily attaching acces-
sories and joining sections. Our heavier decking op-
tions are made in removeable panels for easy seasonal
installation and removal.

4 Dura-LITE Stationary [Link]

Made in Maine for harsh New England conditions, the Dura-LITE
frame offers superior strength with its heavy duty 6” tubular frame.
This design provides maximum resistance to flexing from vertical
load and twisting forces.

Sections of Dura-LITE join together, end

to end, side to side, or end to side using the
snap-on J-Brackets.
Simply snap the
J-Brackets onto
the track of the
frame to provide a
connector for the
adjoining section.

The transition piece between dock and shore, Dura-LITE Ramps are hinged at the end
toward the dock so the ramp can slope between the two elevations. Its low profile
enables the ramp to blend into the landscape, minimizing the step height.

Growing in popularity, perforated surfaces are becoming one
of the top choices in decking for docks. These Dura-LITE
frames are slightly oversized to accomodate the standard sizes
of perforated decking. The openings in the surface provide
many advantages.

The Feather-LITE line is designed to combine lightweight,
strength and affordability. The Feather-LITE dock is ideal
for smaller bodies of water where light boats are used.
The Feather-LITE is lighter duty than the Dura-LITE but
still stronger than dock frames in the 4”-5” frame class.

side and bottom tracks are not only used for attaching accessories but also for connecting dock sections with our J-

about 1-2’ into soft ground.

DOCK PLANNING
FOR ALUMINUM STATIONARY DOCKS
IDEAL CONDITIONS: Stationary docks with proper installation provide excellent stability for everyone. Use a station-
ary dock in water depths up to about 10 feet. For depths between 8-10 feet, added stability can be achieved with 6 foot
wide sections, driving the pipe legs into the bottom 1-2 feet or applying an “L” or “T” section. Stationary docks serve well
in choppy water provided the dock is set high enough for waves to clear beneath.

BEST LOCATION: When choosing a location, consider property boundaries, stable bottom conditions, clearance from
large rocks and other debris, adequate depths for a boat and swimming, proximity and visibility from the house and an
approach that minimizes climbing.

MEASURING: When measuring for the dock, consider the total distance out onto the water required to reach depths
necessary for your particular usage such as boating, swimming and soaking up the sun. Record the depths at every 10
feet out, or where Pipe Legs will stand, to plan the length of each leg required.

A low profile “Ramp” with ability to pivot

up and down on the attachment points is
used to span from land to the first section
of your dock making a perfect transition.

The Dock Step Adjustment Kit lets you

lower outer sections near the deep end of the dock without lowering the
entire system. This kit is useful should you decide to lower the dock on a
body of water that drops throughout the
boating season. The step down that results
should not be more than 8 inches. If you
need to lower the dock more, you can
insert a Box Step(s) to make the transtion.

The “Boarding Step” is another easy

solution to gain access from your dock
to waters that fluctuate throughout the
dock season. The Boarding Step is a height
adjustable platform that extends down from the side of the dock. One is
designed for a 10’ section and mounts to the existing pipe legs. A smaller
5’ boarding step is made for attaching to our aluminum or wood docks.

All stationary sections come with built in corner sockets for

holding dock legs flush to the frame for a clean outer edge. The
deep sockets stabilize the legs and help keep legs plumb during
installation. Galvanized steel legs can be driven into the mud or
sand, providing a firm platform for tying boats.

Deck panels make easy portability and prevention

of damage from impending storm surges.

14 Dura-LITE Stationary
If you have a gradual slope and firm lake bottom, rolling
docks make installation and removal a breeze. The ideal
sizes for portability are the 4x16 sections with removable
decking. One to two sections joined together can usually be
moved by hand. Sections join together with a hinge shown
below. If desired, sections can be separated at the hinge. ROLLING ALUMINUM DOCKS
Our basic units come with two 5 foot legs per section and
a wheel kit. The 24” wheels are made of tough polyethylene
and have drain holes that allow them to sink. Longer dock
legs and braces are available if necessary.

STAIRS
Looking for safe access to your dock or
the water? Our aluminum 3 foot wide stairs
provide comfortable steps with a 7 inch rise,
12 inch run, a gradual 30º slope, anti-slip surface
and optional hand rails. Place on a bank to the
shore with the optional Shore Mount Kit (#9700) and
a ramp that closes the gap between your path and the
top tread. Stairs can be attached to the top of a sea-wall or
attach to the side of a dock. Leveling legs with feet at the
bottom end are included. The stair treads are made with per-
forated anti-slip decking which allows wave action to be easily
dissipated through the paneling. Your stairs can be ordered by the
number of treads required for your specific application. Our larger stairs
are made with 1, 2 and 3 step segments. This concept works amazingly well
if you’re planning a walkway down a steep meandering path or if the soil has
changed and you need to adjust the length of your stair system.

Dura-LITE floating docks display Maine’s finest
craftsmanship in metal trades. The sleek lines of the frame
complimented by your choice of decking, natural cedar,
synthetic or perforated add a unique elegance to your
waterfront.
FLOATING ALUMINUM DOCKS
The Dura-LITE floating docks are most helpful on water bodies that fluctuate in level, keeping a constant height between
the water line and the decking. They are also an advantage in deep waters over 10 feet where stationary dock installations
become less stable. The frames are made
with 6 inch marine grade aluminum
tubular extrusions supported by
rotation molded polyethylene floatation.
The box shaped floatation provides
excellent displacement on the water and
incredible stability.

Some decking choices are made into

panels that nest flush into the frame and
are removable for portability and accessing
utilities or anchor chains. Sections of dock
connect together quickly and easily with
our tabs which allow articulation.

18 Dura-LITE Floating
Dura-LITE floating docks are designed for both residential property owners as well as commercial applications such as ma-
rinas & campgrounds. The tubular frame provides torsional strength to resist twisting and fatigue. Our Dura-LITE
offers ease of portability, optional handrails and accessories and low-maintenance. Its overall look and performance can
add great value to every waterfront.

Application:

• Ideal on fluctuating water levels for maintaining

a constant height from the surface of the water
to the surface of the deck
• Often the more stable choice over stationary
docks when in deep water
• Easier to install; especially helpful with larger
dock systems that require many sections

Use in areas with muck or silt bottoms where a

good footing cannot be achieved for a stationary
dock.

Ideal location:

Waters protected from prolonged high winds.

Stay clear of boulders and other debris that could
interfere with the dock as it drops with the water
level.
Skids can be attached for floating docks that will
ground out at low tide.
