Archicad Tutorial: Creating Interior Elevations

1. Create a Layer Combination for the layers to show up in the Interior Elevations.
a. For Example
i. Layer Combination: Kitchen
ii. Layers:
1. Interior Walls
2. Exterior Walls
3. Floor
4. Ceiling
5. Cabinets
6. Cabinet Labels
7. Interior Elevation
2. Select Interior Elevation Tool from Toolbox
3. Left Click S tarting Point (Click 1) > Drag Cursor, which will form a Rectangle Box around the area/room to show
Interior Elevations > Left Click (Click 2) > Move Cursor to the desired location > Left Click
NOTE: Full Thickness of walls should be included when creating
NOTE: by default the software will provide four directions; non desired views can be deleted later

4. Interior Elevations S ettings
a. Remove Unwanted Elevation
i. Select the Elevation Line > Hit Delete Key

i. Select Interior Elevation Marker on the Drawing > Click on the Default S ettings Icon in the Info Bar >
Set the Following
Elevation Name in Center of Marker
Set: KIT.
Elevation Name ID for Navigator Menu
Set: KITCHEN
Status: Update Type
Horizontal Range: Sets Range that the Elevation will See Set: Manual-Rebuild Model
Set: Infinite Only updates drawings if user selects view > right clicks > Select Update

Vertical Range: Sets Range that the Elevation will See
Set: -1” to 9’-0”
Set Overall Size of Marker
Set: 20
Font Size for text in Center of Marker
Set: 4
View Point Name: Display Name from Navigator
Set: OFF
Custom Text 1-4: Provides user to list Name of Each Arrow
Font Size for text next to Arrows
Direction. Starts at Midnight and goes Clockwise
Set: 4
Typically Labeled as Numbers
Story Layers:
Set to NONE
Layer Setting

5. Editing Interior Elevation Lines and Marker
a. Interior Elevation Lines
i. Select Marker > S elect Elevation line to Move > S elect Drag > Place the Elevation Line at Desired
Location > Left Click

Drag Elevation Line to Left Click to Place

i. Select Marker > S elect Black in Center of Marker > S elect Move S ub Element from S election Menu >

Black Dot in the Center
