What is Roleplay?

Roleplay for me is a chance to live through the lives of characters that inspire
me, to get away from my regular day and be immersed in a different world. A world
where I am the hero of my own movie and I live the life of someone else. For
example,. I would never be a cop in real life, but through roleplay I can virtually
live some part of their lives.

Backstory:

I was born in London UK in 1993 to a very wealthy Indo-British family. I went to

the best boarding schools and you could say I had a very privileged upbringing but
my parents balanced . My parents were also connected to politics through their
friendship with several Members of Parliament. I went to Eaton College, one of the
most elite and made a lot of friends. I studied Global History and Journalism.
During college, I got drafted to the UK Military and was also deployed twice to
Afghanistan. During those visits I learnt the true meaning of being powerful and
being powerless. I learnt about the divide between the haves and the have-nots. I
learnt that being in power doesn't always mean that you are right. After three
years in the army, I voluntarily retired as a Major to set about exploring the
world and expanding my worldview. I got a low-paying travelling assignment from the
BBC and off I went. On one of my visits to North Africa, I reported about
organizing local militia, right from combat training to resource and logistics
planning. I also reported on the day-to-day life of a city that was lost to crime
but still had hope. During this time, my family grew very restless about me and
were not happy with me not settling down and marrying in the UK. After all, they
had spent a lot of money on my education. It got to a point that one year ago, they
cut my access to the family trust, the true source of my income. This was a turning
point in my life where I had to choose. Between going back to my lavish life in
London OR choosing to find other ways to fund my lifelong quest for empathy. During
this year, I focused on traveling a lot less and learning a lot more. I learnt how
to survive on meager funds. I met a monk who taught me some impressive convincing
and negotiating skills. All of this was enough to last almost a year. As my savings
account neared zero, I had an inspiring idea. I had never visited the United States
before and I felt that my skills could be really useful in the developed world more
than the developing world. I went to the airport with just enough money for a one
way ticket and asked the lady at the airline counter to surprise me. She gave me a
ticket to Los Santos, and I hope I get allowed to enter the country. I am usually
patient, a fairly good journalist and am great at organizing and managing all kinds
of people. What will I do there if my passport gets stamped? Well, you have to wait
to find out.

4. In your own words, explain character progression. What do you think is an

adequate pace of progression? [At least 2-3 lines]

Character progression is the natural series of situations and actions which shape a
character's journey in a new city in RP. These actions need to be logical and not
always planned. In fact, the situations (either created by or presented to) our
character enters into should make sense based on their personality and sometimes,
backstory. An adequate pace of progression should be realistic enough to warrant
the next step for the character. For example, if someone has a criminal background,
they cannot start looting a bank on their second day in the city. If you think
realistically, this is a new city and they need to understand how the bank network
works, how the police department reacts, how and where to pick up hostages, and
even before all this, understand whether banks can be looted at all. All this is
done by meeting people, understanding the people and the city, and doing odd jobs
to build a basic financial base. It CAN happenin 1-2 weeks, but it should take more
time naturally.

5. What exactly is Discord RP? Illustrate using an example. [At least 2-3 lines]

Discord RP is when you are communicating with others on discord or other platforms
(not in-game) while in an active situation. This could be via being in a single
voice channel while RPing together or could also be through sending messages on
discord to a friends who you are in a situation with. For example, you are in a
gunfight in close quarters and you do not want the opposing side to hear your radio
calls, so you communicate via discord vc. This is bannable.

6. What exactly is In-Game Meta? Provide an illustration to support your answer.

[At least 2-3 lines]

Meta-gaming is when you roleplay using any information that your character cannot
have in-game. This information can be obtained from a lot of sources like
livestreams of other gamers, your own live-chat on streaming platforms, or could be
sent to you by someone on discord. For example, watching a cop's livestream to
check the fuel level of the chopper who is in your pursuit to time when they go to
refuel.

7. What exactly is body dumping? What are your thoughts on body dumping? Should it
be done? Explain your answer using good reasoning. [At least 4-5 lines]

Body dumping is when you down someone in RP and leave their body in a water body or
some other inaccessible place for anyone to find them, thus forcing the New Life
Rule upon them. Body dumping is also a message to the other person that you do not
want to continue this RP situation or series with them. Body Dumping is a more
cinematic way of ending a long drawn RP situation then say simply writing in OOC
that you don't want to continue RPing. Body dumping should ONLY be used as a last
resort after multiple fights and not as a way to invole NLR whenever you wish.

8. You and your friends are in a crowded pizza restaurant. You tell your friends
that you just returned from the bank, where you deposited $37,000 into your
account. Some individuals are listening in on this talk. You exited the store and
started driving towards your house, Three individuals suddenly stop your car and
kidnap you, forcing you to withdraw money and hand it to them. What are your
expectations, and do you believe the scenario unfolded as expected?
It was unexpected, but RP is unexpected. In this situation, as I am kidnapped, I
will fear for my life more than my money and hand over the money to them and learn
a lesson never to discuss money in public. However, forcing someone to withdraw
money that they cannot otherwise access would be fail RP and I would report these
players.

9. You're walking around the city when you come across a stranded police car. You
discover a PD weapon in the car's glovebox. What is your next plan of action?

There is no roleplay reason to steal from an idle police car. If I am hungry and
there is food there, maybe if I am a criminal with theft tendencies. But a PD
weapon? No! I don't know what kind of trouble that can land me into later.

10. Assume you've been in town for two weeks and one of your friends needs cash, so
he takes you to a clothing store and asks you to change into disguised clothing and
a mask. He also brings you to a grocery store and points a gun at the shopkeeper,
who is a local, i.e., a non-playable character (NPC). The shopkeeper hands you a
bag of cash, and you flee to commit another robbery at another grocery store. In
this technique, you will visit three stores in one hour and earn around $32,000
dollars. [Explain briefly what occurred in this case, and which rules you feel were
violated?]

My character progression towards being a criminal has been acceleretad in this case
and that is not natural. I should not be agreeing to be a part of this as I do not
fully understand the risks and will convince my friend to leave me out of it. If I
end up doing this situation fully, I would have breached several rules: chain
robbing (powergaming), non-natural character progression (fail RP).

11. You and three companions are attempting to rob Pacific Bank. You were the
backup and were waiting in a car while the others walked into the bank. Following
the robbery, the gang made improbable escapes to avoid being caught by the police,
then returned to your car and loaded the stolen items. As they drove away, the cops
noticed the vehicle again and began pursuing them. You chose to keep the loot in
your home before helping the others. Reflect on the incident to see if you made any
mistakes and explain them.

The primary mistake here is combat storing. I need to wait to ensure that the
situation is over and the entire party has escaped before storing any loot from
this situation. I can only do so when I know all three have escaped. Another
mistake is that the police need to know that my car is involved in the robbery as
well for effective counter. Otherwise, I am being the means for combat storing by
the other three.

12. You're standing at Legion Square with a role-player who is the server's admin
when a random individual RDMs another person. You approach the admin by saying,
"Sir, he did RDM, please look into it," since you can tell by the his voice that
the person you're standing with is an admin. What in your opinion can be done in
this situation.

First of all, I should be given a warning or banned if I do this. If you are in

roleplay, you are a character in roleplay and not an admin. My character cannot be
talking OOC within the server. Rulebreaks should be reported through proper
channels and never in-rp. Roleplay over ruleplay aside, there is no way I can go to
an admin-character and say that ban him because I will be completely breaking the
In character immersion that they are in. Not nice.

13. You had a verbal altercation with your RP friend in real life, and now you
avoid that person in RP, even when that person initiates an RP scenario with you.
Did you handle the matter as it should have been handled? Provide good arguments to
back up your answer.

Not at all. Roleplay Blurring is a serious offence in RP and I cannot let my IRL
feelings towards a person bleed into my character's feelings for that person's
character. I can choose to not initiate RP with that character but I cannot stop
them from doing their RP. If they initiate RP with me, i need to remember that this
is a game and it is not him/her in the game, it is his/her character.

14. Are you aware that making toxic remarks, propagating hatred, or ranting about a
player or server administration might result in serious repercussions? [Yes/No]
