CHAPTER III
SUMMARY, FINDINGS, CONCLUSIONS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS
This chapter presents the summary of the problems, the conclusions drawn
from the findings as well as the recommendations based from the conclusions.
SUMMARY
The study was conducted to determine the challenges of online learning
which affects the academic performance of BSOA students. The results of the study
will be the basis for improvement measures.
FINDINGS
The salient findings of the study are as follows:
Profile of the Respondents.
Age. There were a total of fifty respondents wherein majority of them
belonged to the age bracket of 21-23 years old, has the frequency of 46 and its
percentage is 92.
Sex. There were forty (80%) female respondents and ten (20%) male
respondents, for a total of fifty (100%). In this study, the female respondents
dominated as the research participants.
Academic Performance. The academic performance is based on the general
average of students during the first semester of A.Y. 2022-2023. Wherein majority
of them or twenty-four (48%) garnered a grade of 1.51-2.00 (Very Satisfactory).
On Terms of Poor Concentration. Item no. 3 "I have difficulties to stay
focused in online learning.", got the highest weighted mean of 3.66 and describe as
Agree.
On Terms of Learning Environment. Item no.2 "I can look for study space at
home.", got the highest weighted mean of 3.9 and describe as Agree.
On Terms of Poor Internet Connection. Item no.3 "My area has poor signal
strength.", got the highest weighted mean of 3.8 and describe as Agree.
On Terms of Lack of Gadgets. Item no.4 "I do not have any personal
computer.", got the highest weighted mean of 3.86 and describe as Agree.
On Terms of Time Management. Item no.3 "I am easily distracted by social
media and other habits.", got the highest weighted mean of 3.78 and describe as
Agree.
CONCLUSIONS
Based on the results and findings, the researchers concluded that there is a
significant relationship on the challenges of online learning and academic
performance of third year BSOA students wherein null hypothesis was rejected.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the findings and conclusions of the study, the researchers
formulated the following recommendations:
1.) School Administration, may provide more seminar or workshop to ehance and
facilitate the teacher on their way of teaching and assisting to the learning and
concern of the students. Also, may provide tools or equipments that is more
efficient to assist the learning and needs of the students.
2.) Teachers may attend seminars, workshops, and conferences to improve their
skills. To be more patience and understanding to the concerns and needs of the
students for they have different situations. Also, may use their 21st century
strategies to improve, adopt, and connect to the students.
3.) Parents may show their love, care, support, and attention to their children in
order for them to have courage and confidence in their school performances and to
continue their dreams without worries.
4.) Future researchers may use this study to further improve and utilized the
solutions given on the challenges of online learning. This could help them come up
with ways to deal with the challenges they may encounter
A PROPOSED ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM
The result of the study revealed that there is a significant relationship
between the Challenges of Online Learning and Students Academic Performance.
In view thereof, the following objectives are hereby formulated to serve as
guide for enhancement measures.
Objectives:
1.) To help the researchers to collect thoughts from the students they
survey.
2.) To let the teachers find more strategies on how to handle online
learning.
3.) To get the information to the students on what challenges they come up
through online learning.
Mechanics of Implementation
The proposed enhancement program will be presented to the examining
tribunal for comments, review, suggestions to improve the study and
recommendations for approval.
Schedule of Implementation
The implementation of the program should be done right after its approval
by the members of the panel.
Evaluation Measures
Constant follow-up and monitoring of the program should be done so that
appropriate action could be performed right away if there is any problem that will
arise.
