E. Rationale:

Girl Scouting is a worldwide movement that provides girls and young women, aged 4 to
21 years old, with a non-formal educational program based on character development and the
ideals of service. As quantified in DO 68, s. 2003, Re: Revitalizing the Boy/Girl Scouting
Movement in Schools, its key objective is to support the DepEd vision and mission to support
and develop scouts into well-rounded individuals with exemplary character.

Thus, Sto. Cristo Elementary School will hold a school-based Girl Scout of the
Philippines (GSP) investiture ceremony and encampment. This symbolizes the formal
acceptance into the movement after they have completed the requirements of membership and
fully understood the essence of Scouting. It inspires them with the thrill of belonging to a group
and makes them feel equipped to face new challenges and responsibilities.

Moreover, the Girl Scout program provides space for a girl to maximize her fullest
potential to become a responsible and productive member of society. As Girl Scouts, girls
discover the fun, friendship, and power of girls together. Girls grow courageous and strong through a wide
variety of enriching experiences, such as field trips, skill-building sports clinics, community service projects,
cultural exchanges, and environmental stewardships. Girl Scouts helps girls develop their full individual
potential; relate to others with increasing understanding, skill, and respect; develop values to guide their
actions and provide the foundation for sound decision-making; and contribute to the improvement of society
through their abilities, leadership skills, and cooperation with others. Girl Scouts helps girls develop their
full individual potential; relate to others with increasing understanding, skill, and respect; develop values to
guide their actions and provide the foundation for sound decision
