A. Introduction
a). Purpose of Practicum
 The purpose of my practicum in smallville21 hotel are to feel of
the actual working environment and to gain practical knowledge
and skills, which in turn will motivate, develop and build our
confidence. Also it adds more diversified experience and abilities
while enriching the self- acquired proficiencies of the students.
b). Place of work
 Smallville commercial complex, diversion Rd. Mandurriao, Iloilo
City Iloilo 5000

c). Dates of work


 When I started to work at smallville21 hotel, Is February 21, 2023
to April 18, 2023.
d). Job Assignment

B. Background information (Company profile)


i). Location Analysis
The location of smallville21 hotel is Smallville commercial complex,
diversion Rd. Mandurriao, Iloilo City Iloilo 5000
ii). History of the Company
• ROMEO GO, owner of a chain of `` 21 hotels ’’ is an avid believer of
the number 21. His hotels are: Century 21, Diversion 21, Highway 21,
and Smallville 21. Reports have it that he is building another hotel also
with ``21.’’ We were told that he won the Mega Lotto with the number
21 as last digits.

• Smallvile 21 Hotel is a mid-range hotel centrally located in Smallville


Complex, Iloilo's nightlife, dining, and entertainment hub. The hotel is
popular among both visitors and locals for its clean, spacious and
modern rooms at great value for money. It is an excellent choice if you
want to check out Iloilo's party scence and many of the city's upscale
restaurant.

• Smallville 21 Hotel opened back in October 2010 making it one of the


newest hotels in Iloilo City. It is located within the Smallville Complex
along Diversion Road in Iloilo's Mandurriao District. It is conveniently
accessible from anywhere in Iloilo City.
iii). Vision, Mission
 Vision- To make them satisfy with there stay in the hotel and to
make them happy.
 Mission- to able to give the customer/guest their needs and
wants. To make them feel comfortable and secured.

iv). Services Offered


 Our main ventures are offering accommodation to guests,
including event/functions, food and beverage and other leisure
activities.

C. Description of the Work Performed


For almost 2 months in my on the job training (OJT) all in all that I can
say best memorable experience very enjoyable. I only assigned at
banquet department. Banquet service is a range of service styles for
large catered events, such as weddings, award ceremonies, charity
dinners, and sports team banquets. Banquet service style may feature
plated food, buffet or food stations, or passed hors d'oeuvres. In my
first duty we are cleaning the function. Sweeping the floor, mopping,
vacuum, wiping glass window, glass door, dry up utensils, Set up tables
and banquet hall before the event. Deliver food from the kitchen to the
banquet hall in a timely manner. Assist with food preparation before
and during the event. Serve appetizers and plated dinners to guests. In
our 3 days shipboard training in 2go masagana I’m happy because we
have big opportunity to experience in a passenger ship actual
experience in a floating hotel. My first duty is in the horizon sir Clive
teach some proper serving like serving food, bust out proper holding of
bar tray with wine glass. Our second session is 6:30 pm in the front
office front desk duty discuss facilitating registration rooming-in of
guest, handling guest request and inquiries, clean and organize the
front office. My second day duty I woke up early to take a bath and to
wait to take our breakfast. After our breakfast we come back to our
room to wait our duty. Before 9:30 were going to the lobby to
assemble and to take our second session housekeeping deck 6/7 our
job is cleaning hallways, clean lobbies and viewing deck. After that
were taking our lunch and going back to our room to wait our next
session. Our next session is 2:00 PM housekeeping deck 5 same as in
our morning session apply customer service skills, Our last session our
duty is 6:30 in island fiesta I’m happy because we are assign in the
kitchen I experience washing dishes arranging plates inside the
automatic washer.

D. Major Learning from my practicum/OJT

Experiences
 As a practicumer I learn a lot of actual skills and its very enjoyable
to see my self doing the task. We are in the banquet department
we experience any kinds od events like birthday, seminars,
weddings, reunion. I learn that having a teamwork is very
important because the task is very is when you are united. The
best part was interacting with guests from all over which helped
me understand their needs better and also improved my
communication skills significantly. Overall it was a great learning
experience for me which has helped shape up my career in
hospitality industry.

E. Personal Feelings and Observation


a) . Towards Company Office Management and Staff
 My personal feelings and observation towards company office
management and staff here in smallville 21 is they are very kind and
they are approachable when it comes to our needs to know in their
[Link]'s okay if they are occasionally strict with us regarding workin
g [Link] we ever work here, it will be for our own benefit to becom
e a better employee. Additionally, the personnel at the Smaville 21 H
otel is compassionate and pleasant, and they are extremely welcomi
ng to the trainees and to us.
Thank you for being a part of the Smallville 21 Hotel. Also, thanks to t
he staff for all of their assistance and guidance as we complete the ta
sks that have been entrusted to us.

b). Towards my Co-Apprentices


 As an OJT trainee, I have mixed feelings and observations about m
ycoapprentices because we all have different personalities and be
haviors that may or may not be applicable to our industry. Howev
er, I have found that they are generally friendly, inventive, and res
ponsible people who are committed to their work.
C).Towards the ISCOF- DC students
 My observation towards my iscof dc students they are fun they
are very hardworking students. Its nice see that we don’t spoiling
each other in our duties. We are happy because we got to know
each other much better.

D). Towards my supervisor/s


 My personal feelings and observation towards my supervisor is
very kind, approachable, humble, advisable and also responsible,
reliable and capable. I am so grateful to to know him. And that’s is
my observation to him since I became their apprentice or trainee.

F. Recommendation
 I recommend to all the graduating students out there especially in
the ISCOF-students that be responsible to your time and schedule
because you are a trainee only. And be responsible to your work
assigned.

G. Conclusion
 The Bachelor of Science in Cruise Ship Management program enco
urages us to complete on-the
job training so that we may get a feel for a real working environm
ent. We are graduating students. On-the-
Job Training is essential and required for students since it broaden
s their knowledge and enables them to identify their strengths an
d shortcomings in the context of real-world [Link] aids 
in career development by giving students the chance to gain prac
tical work experience that allows them to advance their professio
nal skills and [Link] completing the required number 
of hours of on-the
job training, the student will have gained a wealth of knowledge, 
ethical working principles, increased communication abilities, imp
roved professional self-development, and self-assured comp
etence.
The trainee not only picked some useful abilities but
