Technical Data Sheet

Ardrox 6345

Gas turbine compressor cleaner

Scope
ARDROX 6345 is a liquid concentrate, which consists of an aqueous blend of non-ionic surface active
agents and corrosion inhibitors.
ARDROX 6345 is intended for use in the 'in-situ' washing of the compressor stages of gas turbine
engines. It is designed to remove the accumulation of atmospheric impurities, oil and oil oxidation
products that occurs in the compressor of such engines and so restore the power loss caused by these
deposits.

Chemicals required
ARDROX 6345

Method of use
ARDROX 6345 is used diluted with water in the proportion of 1 part product plus 4 parts water. The
product has a low trace analysis of inorganic impurities and, in order that the working solution applied to
the compressor is equally low in such impurities, ARDROX 6345 must be diluted with good-quality
distilled or deionised water only.
The ARDROX 6345 solution is sprayed into the cranked or fired engine, according to the engine
manufacturers' approved method, using the equipment and technique appropriate to the engine being
cleaned. The volume of solution required and the flow rate will depend on engine type.

CAUTION
Some manufacturers do not permit any solutions to be sprayed into a running, or fired, engine : refer to
the appropriate maintenance procedures.
After cleaning, the engine should be rinsed with distilled or deionised water and then protected with
water-displacing fluid, ARDROX 3961, unless the engine is to be used immediately.

Effects on materials
When used as recommended, ARDROX 6345 is non-corrosive to the materials normally used in gas
turbine engine construction. It is also non-corrosive to the alloys and paint schemes normally used in
airframe construction. It will not craze or discolour polymethylmethacrylate plastic or cause hydrogen
embrittlement.
