My First Interview

April 28th 2008 the day I got freedom from Bsc_It the last day of my 6th semester exams my last paper MIS (management information systems) got over at 2 pm. It was such a relief I came back home slept for more then 6 hours and then I met my friends at 10 pm after my dinner. The same day even TYBMS got done with their exams so I and my friends from BMS decided to go for a drive and we all were just happy that finally we are done with TY exams and there is a good 3 months for the results so we have no studies and no work till are results were out but we were also sad that practically our college life just ended but there were many more reasons to be happy that day so we all were just in a very good mood. We went to Nariman point and we all were just talking and enjoying the sea breeze all of a sudden Kashif said that he is going for an interview tomorrow initially we thought he is just kidding its just the first day of our vacation and he talking about going for an interview we all started laughing saying that Ki tu kaal interview kay liye jaa raha hain tu jisay sonay say fursat nahi milti but later we realised that he was serious all of a sudden every one got quite. I asked what happen guys he just going for an interview he not going for a war so why are we so upset everyone was like we always decide to enjoy in our vacation and kill time but never decided to work and for the first time we all thought that kashif is right. So we all decided that this vacation before we get our results out we all will work because this was the time when we have to think about our future every one had a plan to do masters but no one decided to work but finally we were thinking in a much better way and we all decided that this summer we will work. So I asked kashif were are you going for an interview he replied COMMUNICATE 2 and I replied Call center tu call center join karayga he said no yaar not a call center its a SEM Firm and we all were what is SEM he explained us that it is a search engine marketing firm they advertise online on platform like google yahoo msn I found it little interesting so I asked him what exactly they do he said even I dont know much but I googled it what is SEM and my cousin Zeeshan told me a little about it. I was like it sounds good and pretty interesting some thing new and if you clear this interview you will

get to learn a lot and we all wished him Best of Luck. And then we moved on from there came back home. Next day I met kashif in the evening i was very excited to know how was his interview, did he got selected and if yes when is he joining from he said Altamash guess what I got selected and I was like cool yaar party chahiye and he is like array yaar 1st salary toh aanay dey we will surely party I asked him when are u joining from he said from 2nd of may and then he said Altamash why dont you also try in Communicate 2 there are openings and I guess u should just give it a try and I was like ya neways I hav no plans as such so ya I can give it a try so kashif gave me his managers number I called him at that very moment his name was zaeem he asked me to mail my resume to him and he will give me a call for an interview tomorrow. Next day in the morning at 11 am when is sleeping I got a call from zaeem he called me for an interview on Monday the 5th of May at 10 in the morning 10 in the morning suntay he is was like array I generally sleep till 12 how will I reach for an interview at 10 in the morning. It was going to be the first interview of my life i dint know what to do and how to go for it so I asked kashif that Party yaar kya kya karna padayga he said just be normal chillax wear a formal be neatly dressed and read a little about SEM and communicate 2. On Monday I woke up at 8 am got ready and i left home at 9am I reached the office at sharp 10 first time in my life I was on time and I seriously dont know how I was neatly dressed wearing formals had a hard copy fo r my resume and a little nervous I entered the office asked for zaeem the peon asked me to have a seat i sat there and I was just trying to adjust to the formal environment it was very new for me. After some time zaeem came met me asked for tea or coffee and then gave me a form to fill I thought it mite be a simple general information form but the form consist of more then 2 pages the first page was a general information I started filling it but I dint knew that from 2nd page my aptitude test will start and I was surprised because I dint knew that there can be an aptitude test also I got shocked zaeem gave me good 45 mins to finish my test it had around 30 question. He again asked me to wait there he will call me for second round and i was like ok second round so this was my first round and I dint even know that I was that dumb to not realise the only thing which I said after that was can I have a glass of water I had water and I sat on the sofa there was nothing to

do so I started reading newspaper Mumbai mirror after 30 mins zaeem calls me in his personal cabin for second round personal interview the 1st question he asked was tell me some thing about yourself and I started my name, age, likes, dislikes, educational qualification, hobbies etc second question who all there in your family I answered mom dad 2 brother and sister third question what does your dad do I answered he is into business fourth question what business I answered we are into garments we manufacture denims fifth question why you want to work I answered for experience and learning sixth question why communicate 2 bus this is were I got stuck I dint knew why I cant say him I am here because my friend is working here or he told me to give it a try I just dint knew why but I did answer and I was surprised that I answered that I said I am a very moody person I cant concentrate on one thing for a long time so to have focus and not to get bored I need a job which I really dont know much about and I should get to learn more and I should have the freedom of taking decisions and be myself and not to be fake and I think this job will give all this communicate 2 will give me all this the next thing he said was please wait we will inform you about the next round i was very sure that I have goofed up I hav just made a fool out of myself I was talking any thing this is it he will reject me but I seriously dint want to get rejected I always thought that I shouldnt get rejected in my first interview but I knew there was very little chance of getting selected in my language wat lag gaee thee zaeem called me and for a change he took only 10 mins to get back he asked me to go to worli at the head office for the third round I was so shocked I was very thankful to god because what I told him even I dont remember it after I was out of the room there was only 1 thing that I was just confident very confident I greeted zaeem said thanks a lot and left from there I reached worli in say 15 mins I was on my bike so it just took 15 mins for me to reach worli from lowerparel I entered the office I was like wow this place is much bigger than lowerparels office my name was asked and told to have a seat there were already 4 people sitting there 3 girls and a 1 guyi just sat beside a girl not because she is a girl thats y but there was no other place to seat again what to do so I started talking to the girl next I asked her name and is she come for an interview she said yes then later on I came to know that all of us were there sitting for the third round the
