E. Read the text about air travel. Are sentences 1–8 ‘Right’ (A) or ‘Wrong’ (B)? If there is
not enough information to answer ‘Right’ (A) or ‘Wrong’ (B), choose ‘Doesn’t say’ (C).

Air Travel
In the early days of air travel, travelling by plane was an exciting adventure, something very
special. The airline staff looked after you as if you were the most important person in the
world. You had comfortable seats and excellent food, so an air trip was something to look
forward to. But that has all changed, as anyone who has flown recently will know. It is no
longer an exciting adventure, but a stressful experience you have to go through. It starts at the
airport where you are made to stand in endless queues. The first queue is to check in and
hand over your suitcases to the airline and once you do this you have no idea if you will ever
see them again. Then you are photographed and X-rayed and questioned by a number of
officials. Everyone can see what shampoo, shower gel and toothpaste you use, as these must
be in a plastic bag for the officials to check. Your holiday now seems more like a nightmare
than a holiday! So why don’t we travel by train or ship? Train journeys are much less
stressful and, usually much more comfortable than going by plane, but they are also much
slower.
0 When people first travelled by plane they had an enjoyable experience.
