Introduction
This research aims to investigate the relationship between the use of digital tools and time
management. In today’s technologically advanced world, digital tools have become a big part of
our daily lives. Forms of using programs, websites, applications, and other internet and
computerized resources that facilitate, enhance and execute digital processes and overall digital
enablement efforts. However, the widespread adoption of digital tools has also raised questions
about their impact on our ability to manage time effectively. With the rapid advancement of
technology, the knowledge society is being compelled to adapt and become familiar with ever-
more-complex codes, which are necessary to address ever-more-specific issues. In this regard,
citizens’ digital competency is crucial for adjusting this kind of process. (Ocaña et al., 2019).
The efficient management of time is crucial for personal productivity, academic success, and
professional growth. With the increasing availability and accessibility of digital tools, individuals
now have an array of options to assist them in organizing their schedules, setting reminders, and
improving overall time management skills. Yet, the extent to which these digital tools truly
enhance time management remains a topic of ongoing research and debate. In turn, being in
possession of this good ability to manage technological and functional resources, such as time, is
thought to be linked to a better feeling of efficiency in the task performed; this self-efficacy
misunderstood as the judgment that each person performs on himself based on previous
experiences and perceptions about his ability to face a certain task (Bandura, 1982)
Related literature
Stating the decision means that someone makes a plan about the target that should be achieved in

the limited time. Considering the task as the priority means classifying the task into its
difficulties and its important. Preference of the organization is based on the tendency of
individual who implements the balances for both of the environment of the activity and the
approach of the task. Atkinson (1994) the individual can does his activities with a good
organization and it helps him to work easily, avoids the urgent activity, improves the self-
motivation, increases the discipline in doing the task, and classifies the thing into its importance.
The mechanism aspect covers the activity of controlling such as making schedule. The schedule
helps the students to remind them for their task and the allocation time for doing those tasks.
According to Tylor, the function of the schedule is to avoid the overloaded of the activities,
reminder and to avoid rushing (Puspitasari, 2013). The control of the time refers to the
confidence of controlling time and managing the some aspect that may influence to the use of
time such as managing the spare time. The students can use their spare time to learn a new
material or just repeat the material that they already got to get a better academic achievement.
The Intensity Of Smartphone Using As A Source Of Learning Essentially, learning is the process
of making improvement for every individual. The example of learning experience is based on the
interaction between the individual and environment. The function of learning environment and
the aspect that support the learning environment and optimized the academic achievement can be
called as a resource of learning. Rohani (2013) the resources of learning can be classified from
the development, namely (a) learning resources by design (learning resource that is designed to
fulfill the needs of the learning or after the selection); (b) learning resource by utilitarian (an
unplanned resource for the learning process) is all of the resource of learning (environment)

around the school that is used by the students to learn and the characteristic is incidental. The
resource of learning allows the individual to enrich their knowledge and skill. The innovations
that are made by the human especially in the educational field allow the media as one of the
learning sources. Depdiknas (2011) the function of recourses of learning are (1) increasing the
learning productivity through quicken the process of learning and help the students to manage
the time as well as increase the confidence in order to present the material or information; (2)
make the students to be more independent; (3) build the learning process with the scientific
based; (4) make the learning to be more effective; (5) support the learning process by providing a
wide and meaningful information. The classification of learning process that is used as the Now
days, Smartphone is becoming the prior need because of its characteristics, benefits, and it is a
portable technology that makes the people be addicted on it. Based on the function, smartphone
has some applications that support the academic activity such as: application of browsing,
application of social media and communication, of office application, schedule application,
calculation application, saving data application, documentation application and translation
application (Rustrini, 2015). The term intensity means the ability of individual to do creativity or
any special and specific activity to reach the aim. Smartphone can be used as a resource of
learning in all of learning situation and it can develop the comprehension and understanding of
the students through emphasizing the learning process as an action, such as searching the
learning resources by using the smartphone to solve the problem during the learning process. The
students can use the smartphone to explore the literature deeply through its application. The
attitude of using smartphone in the learning process can be seen through the attitude of students

in maximizing the function the application in smartphone to find a lot of information that support
the learning process. Wulandari (2014) the attitudes that might be seen in
using smartphone are (1) The necessary means the application of the service of the smartphone
are able to support the learning process; (2) Giving assumption means the students give a
comment to the application in his smartphone rather it is good or bad; (3) Freedom means the
user of the smartphone has an unlimited access right in using the smartphone’s fitures; (4)
Flexibility means the smartphone has sophisticated features that make the user use the
smartphone easily; (5) Pleasure means the user feel comfort to use the features in the
smarthphone; (6) Happiness means the the feeling of the user while using the features in the
smartphone. The attitude of using a high technology communication tool, smartphone, it is a tool
that supports the leaning which is relevant and flexible to help individual shares their knowledge
and information with the others.
It is though that those students who better manage their time and perceive themselves to be more
effective in the tasks they perform are thought to be due, in part, to a stronger understanding and
command of digital competence. This competence allows students to know and use a greater
number of tools and techniques to respond to the problems that arise in their academic career,
favouring the reduction of perceived stress. To test this hypothesis, a total of 200 students from
different degrees of Education and universities participated in the study, who answered the
Digital Competence Questionnaire in University Students, the Spanish version of Time
Management Behaviour Questionnaire, the Scale of Perceived Self-efficacy in academic
situations, and the Scale of Global Perception of Stress. The results show how the starting
hypothesis is fulfilled in that time management and academic self-efficacy function as mediators

between digital competence and types of positive or negative stressors. Finally, these findings
implications are discussed
Statement of the Problem
Identifying the potential challenges and benefits of using digital tools for time management
among grade 12 students will provide educators and stakeholders with valuable insights. By
addressing these issues, educators can help students manage their time more effectively in an
increasingly digital world. The main focus of this research is to address the following problems:

the use of Digital Tools and Time tasks. People face various needs, such as
management. academics, work, and family obligations.

students to complete their studies and manage
tasks efficiently. This is especially important
in distance education, where timely
completion of tasks is crucial for success.
Google Classroom is an ideal tool for students
to save time and organize quizzes, activities,
and assignments. It offers free productivity
tools like Gmail, Drive, and Docs, providing
an all-in-one place for teaching and learning.
Google Classroom helps manage, measure,
and enrich learning experiences on a virtual
platform, allowing teachers and students to
organize assignments effectively.

Significance of the Study
The study of the relationship between the use of digital tools and time management of grade 12
students at Marcelo H. Del Pilar National High School had various significances and benefits for
different stakeholders, including:
Students: The study will help students understand how digital tools can influence their time
management, identify effective strategies to use digital tools to enhance their productivity, and
improve their academic performance.
Teachers: The study will help teachers understand the impact of digital tools on students' time
management and academic performance and develop effective strategies to integrate digital tools
into their teaching practices.
Parents and guardians: The study will help parents and guardians understand the role of digital
tools in students' time management and academic performance and enable them to provide
relevant guidance and support to their children.
Future Researchers: The study will provide a foundation for future research on the relationship
between digital tools and time management and inspire further research on the best ways to use
digital tools to enhance productivity and improve academic performance.
Scope and Delimitation
The respondents of this study are the grade 12 students in Marcelo H. del Pilar National High
School. The study only focuses on the use of digital tools (google classroom) and their relation to
the time management of the selected students.

Definition of Terms
Digital Tools - In the context of this study, digital tools refer to electronic devices, software
applications, and online resources that are commonly used by grade 12 students at Marcelo H.
Del Pilar National High School to assist them in various academic tasks, such as research, note-
taking, organization, and time management.
Time management - refers to the process of planning and organizing to accomplish tasks and
goals. It involves prioritizing activities, setting deadlines, and utilizing strategies to optimize
productivity and avoid procrastination.
Methodology
Research Design
The researchers used Descriptive Research Design for this study . This research design would be
applied to explore correlations between variables without allowing the researcher to control any
of them. In the study, the researchers used the descriptive correlational research design to
describe how the independent variable (Use of Digital Tool (google classroom)) and the
dependent variable (Time Management) are related and has effect on the respondents, without
any attempt to alter them or assign causation between them.
Respondents and sampling method
The respondents of this study are be the grade 12 students in Marcelo H. Del Pilar National High
School which have a population of 471 .And solved the problem by using sloving formula .The

researcher identified 80 respondents . In order to select the respondents , stratified random
sampling are used in this study.
Research Instrument
The research instrument used in this study was adopted from AO . Leftwich , PA . Ertmer , J.
Tondeur entitled Interpretation of Research on Technology Integration and Britton and
Tesser(1991) . The researchers prepared 5 – points Likert Scale in order to gather information for
the respondents .
Data Collection Procedure
The researchers requested permission from the chosen public school's principals in order to
gather data from Grade 12 students in each strand of the Marcelo H. Del Pilar National High
School. The researchers selected this school because they thought that included participants from
these schools would have a big impact on the study's results. In order to protect their
understanding, the researchers needed the respondents to sign a letter of consent before to the
delivery of the surveys. A short description of the subject and the objective was added to the
questionnaires to ensure the validity of the data collected. The data was then totaled using the
methodology described, and the resulting figure served as the basis for data analysis and
interpretation.

Data Analysis
In order to present and analyze the data collected in this study. The researcher used Four- point
likert Scale on the relationship between use of Digital Tool and time management of the grade 12
Student Marcelo H Delpilar National Highschool A. Table to present the profile of the data

12 Student Marcelo H Delpilar National Highschool B. Percentage. To show an accurate
representation of the given data C. Weighed Mean. To describe the awareness of use of Digital
tools and time management Furthermore, the weighted means was interpret using interval below

Corellation
The researchers analyzed the data using statistical techniques, such as calculating correlation
coefficients, determined the strength and direction of the relationship between Use of digital tool
like Google Classroom and time management. A positive correlation would suggest that students
who frequently and effectively utilize Google Classroom for their academic activities also
demonstrate better time management skills.
Conclusion
The use of digital tools has revolutionized the way we work, learn, and communicate, enabling
us to access vast amounts of information, connect with people from all over the world, and
accomplish tasks more efficiently. Some examples of digital tools include social media
platforms, email clients, video conferencing software, project management tools, and
productivity [Link] management can be described as the process of planning and organizing
how much time you spend on various activities to maximize productivity and achieve your goals.
It involves setting priorities, creating schedules, and allocating time effectively to ensure that
tasks are completed on time.

Discipline is also an important aspect of time management. It involves developing the self-
control and focus needed to stick to your schedule and avoid distractions. This may involve
setting boundaries, such as turning off notifications on your phone or avoiding social media
during work hours, and prioritizing tasks based on their importance and urgency. With discipline,
you can develop the habits needed to manage your time effectively and achieve your goals.
Recommendation
The use of digital tools like Google Classroom can have a significant impact on time
management for both educators and students. Google Classroom provides a centralized platform
for organizing course materials, including lecture notes, presentations, and additional resources.
This makes it easier for both teachers and students to locate and access the materials they need,
saving time spent searching for physical copies or digging through various folders. Google
Classroom integrates with Google Calendar, allowing teachers and students to manage their

One of the key advantages of Google Classroom is its accessibility from anywhere with an
internet connection. Students can access course materials, assignments, and discussions at their
convenience, enabling them to manage their time more flexibly. This is particularly beneficial
for students with busy schedules or those who need to balance multiple responsibilities.
