on activity across Iraq.

Experienced and dedicated analysts
Marta Wojtowicz
Impact analyst
Marta is a highly experienced, qualified and Arabic speaking analyst, with a detailed and in depth
understanding of the oil and gas industry in Iraq. She was awarded a Master’s Degree in Warsaw
studying the law of armed conflicts and Middle Eastern studies in addition to her MPhil in Iraqi
history from the University of Cambridge. Marta has worked in Basra since 2013 where she
headed up the BSOC Insight Team based with the Basra Operations Command and was
involved and managed all stages of information collection cycle, report writing, Risk
analysis and incident response in support of operations in Basra and wider Iraq.
Separately, she also worked as a consultant with the University of Manchester
mission in Nasiriya and UNESCO Office for Iraq projects in southern Iraq.
Marta brings a detailed understanding of security risks in Iraq, Basra
Province in particular, as well as substantial knowledge on the political
and cultural environment for operations.
Steve Draycott
Impact analyst
Steve served 23 years in the British Army’s Intelligence
Corps in a variety of linguist and analyst roles primarily
concentrating in the Middle East including detachments
as Arabic interpreter to 3 Commando Brigade in Northern
Iraq immediately post-Gulf War 1 and subsequently with the UN
Weapons Inspection teams in Iraq throughout the 1990s.
Having completed a period as Senior Arabic Instructor at the Defence
Special Signals School Steve was posted to SHAPE as the Intelligence Division
Training Warrant Officer where he initiated and conducted an intelligence analyst
course for NATO officers prior to their deployment to the Former Yugoslavia before
completing his service at RAF Digby as Squadron Operations Warrant Officer/Officer in
his primary trade as an Arabic interpreter.
On leaving the army in 2004 Steve began work as a security risk analyst with Aegis Defence
Services in support of reconstruction operations in Iraq based in a number of locations including
Tikrit, Baghdad, Hillah, Diwaniyah and Nasiriyah.
In 2011 he left Aegis to work for G4S as the dedicated security risk analyst for oil and gas clients
in southern Iraq which quickly evolved into becoming the countrywide analyst, catering to a variety
of clients before moving to Al Hurea in June 2016.
