This is like a table book, with 300 pages of abbreviated and adorable portraits of different people who who who Or they were activists. Many of the names are well -known
people â € “Like Billie Jean King, Harry Belafonte, Reverend Sharpton. But others are unknown, people who have moved on silently to protest against something, to denounce injustice, to ask for a change, sometimes in small but effective and powerful ways. In introduction, Ottesen refers to his Large interviews and research for this book â € "How do
you hope that it" resounds beyond the ideological lines ... regardless of their beliefs or specific paths. "I think it should have done more to include a larger spectrum of people, Not only ideologically liberal individuals. He included a conservative person of Tea Party, an activist for march for life, and a Catholic nun (who could be considered left by most
practicing Catholics). All the others were quite liberal in their opinions ... and there were no children included ... which made me ask what the nature of activism was. Is it something that only liberaldemocrats do? Is activism limited to blue voters? Only to adults? I think not. I would have preferred more balanced coverage on this topic. Where are the
soldiers, the marines, the women who fight for the rights of the unborn child, the men who defend the freedom of religion? There are many activists who are priests, rabbis, ministers, councilors and nuns. They were largely missing from this book. This imbalance, I appreciated learning about the individuals included here. I am grateful and honored
that many of the privileges I have today are due to the courage of these people to come forward and speak openly, write to legislators, protest peacefully, organize others and share information to help the needy. One of my favorite portraits was by Bonnie Raines. I had never heard it nominated. Together with her deceased husband John and many
others, raided an FBIs office to steal documents to unmask Illegal activities and power abuses. Raines and his crew have never been captured! 42 years later their story came out and a book was written in detail their activities. Another favorite was Edward Snowden. I can't help but be amazed by him in exposing the mass surveillance of the NSA. He
could easily be assassinated for what he did. He could have kept his mouth closed, taking the road easy, but at great risk he decided to speak. I am grateful for the whistles like him, who risk his life to do that is right, to expose something corrupt, something hidden and dangerous for the good of others. Photography in this book is beautiful. The black
and white portraits have a more dramatic effect: each photo is well done. A very instructive and adorable book, despite its imbalances. ... more 05 November 2019 Moonbook evaluated, it was ok I listed on the Audioib but I felt boring on January 18, 2020 Derek Lynch evaluated the activist: the portraits of courage are full of wonderfully fired portraits

white supremacy through their support for Tea Party, do you know? Furthermore, I would have loved any more detailed testimonies by many of these activists. Overall: 3/5 stars!
