Diwali is the most popular Indian festival. People across all religions celebrate it. People call it the 'Festival of Lights'.
Diwali is a major cultural event and mainly celebrated by illuminating homes, shops, temples and other
establishments with several lamps. The negative side of it is that during the festival days, extensive burning of
firecrackers takes place, especially in the evening hours, constituting a significant source of aerosols, black carbon
(BC), organics, and trace gases. The already polluted environment gets more polluted due to the smoke emitted by
crackers thereby making it difficult to breathe. Bursting of crackers also leads to many other problems like burning and
redness of eyes, lungs and skin infections. Besides, the noise pollution caused due to them has an adverse effect
especially on small children and animals. We must say no to crackers to avoid pollution and its aftereffects. We should
inspire those around us to refrain from bursting crackers. After all, meeting and spending time with family and friends
is the best thing you can do in any festival and Diwali, a festival of lights is the best occasion to do that!

Universe
We ignore many things that are around us. But, great scientists don't. Everyone saw an apple falling, but only Newton
asked 'Why'. The reason was curiosity. Albert Einstein, who created a revolution in Physics, did all of it because he was
curious. It began 13.8 billion years ago when there was nothing. Then there was an explosion under some mysterious
circumstances. This explosion was termed as “Big Bang.” Some people believe that this was the origin of our Universe,
whereas others believe in the theory of Metauniverse. Basically, space, time, matter and energy were created. After
some reactions, stars had formed. These well-known laws describe the Universe very well. After the formation of the
Earth, meteorites struck the earth and many chemical reactions took place. One such mysterious chemical reaction led
to the formation of life. Life evolved and evolved. One asteroid struck the earth which led to the extinction of dinosaurs
but made a way for mammals to rise. The current result is us. It is still evolving. Our Universe consists of trillions and
trillions of planets including 50 billion earth like planets, but only our planet consists of life.

“Listen with curiosity and sincerity
Speak with honesty and clarity
Act with solidarity and integrity.”
“Integrity” is a word you hear almost every day, but it’s not a word that people spend a lot of time thinking about. If you try to define it, what would
you say? According to the dictionary, integrity is "firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values." Put in another way, the root of
integrity is about doing the right thing even when it’s not acknowledged by others, or convenient for you. Integrity helps in building healthy,
meaningful and long-term interpersonal relationships. People with high integrity always have the highest quality of work in everything they do.
They are the people who are always totally honest with themselves in everything they do and strive to do excellent work every time.
Integrity helps you to become an outstanding and successful person in everything you do and is a seed for achievement. It's a principal that never
fails.

History of the Paralympic Movement
Sport for athletes with an impairment has existed for more than 100 years, but it was not until after World War II
however, that it was widely introduced.
In 1944, at the request of the British Government, Dr. Ludwig Guttmann opened a spinal injuries centre and in
time, rehabilitation sport evolved to recreational sport and then to competitive sport. On 29 July 1948, the day
of the Opening Ceremony of the London 1948 Olympic Games, Dr. Guttmann organised the first competition
for wheelchair athletes which he named the Stoke Mandeville Games.
The Stoke Mandeville Games later became the Paralympic Games which first took place in Rome, Italy, in The symbol of the

“Creativity is as important now in education as literacy and we should treat it with the same status.” The core aim of education is to foster
all round development of a child. Co-scholastic activities are those which are undertaken side by side with the curricular activities, outside
a typical pen and paper classroom experience. They actually complement the curricular activities and groom the students in the art of
working together. We, at Orbis, aim at the holistic development of our students and provide them with a thorough platform that caters to a
wide range of co-scholastic activities, such as music - vocal and instrumental, dance, drama, skating, archery, martial arts, art and craft,
the inter house competitions such as the IBA Poster making, Orbiloqui, and Orbisports to name a few. These co-scholastic activities in
turn help our students to perform better academically and to have a higher self-esteem.
