Focused History Taking for Short Stature

The mother is concerned that her 2-year-old son is short for his age, with a height of 80cm (<5th percentile). The student should take a focused history from the mother, asking about the child's birth history including length, weight, and gestational age; developmental milestones; symptoms and chronic illnesses; appetite and feeding; dental history; medication use; and family history of short stature and genetic disorders. Take a focused history from the mother.

Observe the student asking the mother about the following:

Asking about developmental history (one milestone about each domain)
Gross motor: if the child runs well, jumps, or upstairs downstairs…….. 0 1
