Section A: Guiding Principles
Article 1: Purpose
The Placement Cell of Lady Shri Ram College for Women serves as an interface between the students and
the recruiters. In addition to bringing a varied list of recruiters to campus, the Placement Cell also
organizes workshops, seminars and internship opportunities for the collective student body.
Article 2: Conveners and Union
The Cell works under the guidance of Dr. Kanika Ahuja as Convener, Dr. T Kannan as Co-Convener, Dr.
Rajeev Yadav, Dr. Himanshi Saini, Dr. Renu Kaul, Dr. Shama Major, and Dr. Shilpi Singh as faculty
advisors.
Day to day operations of the Cell along with the organization of various placement processes is carried
out by the Union, with the help of the Cell’s student members and Department Representatives.
Article 3: Authority
During unforeseen situations/issues, the decision of the placement cell union and the faculty advisors will
be absolute and binding.
Section B: Categorization of companies
Article 1: Categorization
The companies are categorized into 3 groups
● Super Blue
● Blue
● Non-Blue
The categorization is based primarily on the compensation offered
Article 2: Compensation Demarcation
● Below 6.5 lakhs are categorized as Non-Blue
● 6.5 lakhs to 12 lakhs are categorized as Blue
● Above 12 lakhs are categorized as Super Blue
Although a clear demarcation has been suggested here, the categorization of companies may be subject to
change under the discretion of the Placement Cell Faculty Advisors and the Union.
Article 3: Slotting
The slot for the company to visit our campus and recruit during the placement season will be based on the
compensation, profile of the company, number of years of association with LSR and feedback from
alumni placed with the company.
Section C: Placement Rules
Article 1: No. of Placement offers
During the entire placement process, a student is eligible to receive a maximum of 2 placement offers.
This however is contingent on the category of the company from which the student receives their first
offer.
Article 2: Categorisation-wise rules
● If a student receives an offer from a Super Blue company, she will not be permitted to apply to
any further company visiting campus irrespective of rejecting or accepting the offer.
● If a student receives an offer from a Blue company, she is then eligible to apply for placement
with Super Blue companies only. She is not eligible to sit for placement with any other
Non-Blue or Blue companies.
● If a student receives an offer from a Non-Blue company, she is then eligible to receive one more
job offer from any company (Super Blue, Blue or Non-Blue).
● If a student has been shortlisted/selected by a company, say a Blue Company X, but has not
received a job offer yet, she is permitted to sit for placements with other companies. During this
time period, if she receives a job offer by another Blue company or a Super Blue Company, she
will not be permitted to appear for the final round of selection for the previous company X.
Article 3: Rules regarding acceptance
● If a student accepts a job offer, either through an email acceptance or through physically signing
the offer acceptance letter she will not be permitted to apply to any further company visiting
campus, i.e., she will be signed out of the placement process.
● Further, if a student, after accepting a job offer does not join the company, the college will initiate
disciplinary action as it not only denies another student a chance but also reflects poorly on the
college. It is therefore in the interest of the student to think clearly and make the decision of
accepting/rejecting wisely.
● Acceptance of a job offer implies that you will not be considering higher education after
graduation.
Article 4: Some Miscellaneous Rules
● It is the duty of the student to conduct their own preliminary background check for a company
they wish to apply for. It is not the sole responsibility of the Placement Cell.
● Whether a company carries out the placement process on or Off campus, the LSR Placement
Policy applies. Here, the off campus process refers to opportunities that are routed through the
Placement Cell but the process is handled independently by the company itself.
● All correspondence between the company and the candidates has to be done through the
Placement Cell. After the company has selected the students who will be offered the final
placements, the Placement Cell will have to be duly notified following which we will inform the
selected students. Only after this, the company can be in direct touch with the candidates to figure
out details such as joining date, location etc.
● Please note that it is mandatory for each student to share their offer letter with the placement cell,
as we require the same for our official records.
Section D: Pre Placement offer
Article 1: Conditions for Pre Placement Offer
● If a student is given a Pre-Placement Offer from a Super Blue/ Blue company where she was
previously interning, she will be eligible to receive one more job offer from any company (Super
Blue, Blue or Non-Blue).
● If a student is given a Pre-Placement Offer from a Non-Blue company, she is
eligible to receive offers in a manner similar to those students who have not
been offered a Pre-Placement Offer.
Section E: Blacklisting policy
Article 1: Significance
If the actions of a student lead to the application of the blacklisting policy she will be blacklisted for any
further placements, i.e., she will be out of the placement process with immediate effect. Further, other
disciplinary action will be taken against her by the College.
Article 2: Pre-Placement Talk (PPT)
● If a student wishes to sit for placements of a particular company, it is mandatory for her to sit
through the Pre-Placement Talk (PPT) of that company, whether conducted online or offline.
● Under extremely unavoidable circumstances wherein a student is unable to attend a particular
PPT that they have signed up for, it is mandatory for them to send a replacement for herself.
