Integrated Reporting in Higher Education

The document provides a comparative analysis of the integrated reports published by the University of Edinburgh (UE) and University Sains Malaysia (USM). It examines the reports for compliance with integrated reporting guidelines and principles, as well as how each university communicates its value creation and business model. The analysis finds that UE fully complies with all seven guiding principles of integrated reporting, while USM only partially complies. Both universities disclose their organizational overview, external environment, business model, outlook, and performance. However, UE provides more detailed and quantitative information across all content elements compared to USM. The integrated reporting approach provides benefits for communicating universities' strategic objectives and value creation activities.
