Speed, Velocity, and Acceleration Card Sort
Task Card
Objective: I can identify and distinguish between examples of speed, velocity and acceleration.
Review the following definitions:
Speed: distance over time
Velocity: distance over time in a given direction
Acceleration: speeding up, slowing down, or changing direction
Directions:
1. Create the following chart in your science notebook.
2. Then, cut up the cards on the attached worksheet.
3. Sort them into three piles, depending on if they are an example of speed, velocity or
acceleration.
4. Finally, glue them into your notebook once you have got it checked by your teacher.
