I. Project Title : BASURA PATROL

II. Rationale : Solid waste is one of the most serious environmental problems, given its high negative
impact on natural resources and human health.

One of the major problems of the school is the disposal of everyday waste accumulated
from different classrooms and other non-instructional rooms of the school. The school
management was able to formulate different programs to address the said problem.

MIPUTAK NATIONAL HIGH School adheres with the mandates of the Republic Act (RA) 9003
which is known as the ecological Solid Waste Act of 2000. All principles and activities are
anchored with this RA.

The purpose of the Waste Management Program is to ensure solid waste is managed in such
a way that protects both public health and the environment. Reducing the number of solid
wastes generated remains the program's primary goal.

Activities of the schools’ solid waste program

>Reduce waste. Minimize and avoid sending waste to a landfill.

>Reuse waste in school.

>Recycle waste in school.

>Compost organic waste in school.

All activities are anchored from RA 9003. Teachers, Learners and stakeholders are part for
the implementation of these activities.

III. Objectives :

 To strengthen the integration of ecological solid waste management into the teaching -
learning areas to promote environmental awareness and action among students.

 To practice proper waste management in all areas of the school campus.

 To promote students’ knowledge and cooperation in proper waste disposal.

 To maintain cleanliness and tidiness of our school campus.

Problem Statement: 30% (out of 814) of the students improperly dispose their garbage in the school.

Problem Objective Statement: 1. To promote students’ knowledge and cooperation in proper waste disposal or
segregate their

2. To practice proper waste management in all areas of the school campus.

Root Cause: 1. Students are not practicing waste segregation at home and even in school.

2. Students are not cooperating well in the implementation of the program, and they lack self-
discipline.

This Project BASURA PATROL of Miputak National High School needs a budget for our daily operations
especially to our active patrollers for their personal protective equipment’s (PPEs) and waste trashbins for proper
segregations.

Concluding Statement

BASURA PATROL is a year-round project of the school to strengthen the implementation of the RA 9003
which promote cleanliness, safe and healthy environment that will enhance conducive learning of Mipians. Constant
practice of proper waste disposal will make our students more discipline and to be inculcated in their minds develop
environment awareness and it would help our community a better place to live in.

Lastly, this will develop a lifelong habit for the students to be more responsible in their waste management.
