Ref: This office letter No. GEA/2017/PS-02, dated 05-01-2018.
In the wake of Notification on the subject cited matter, bearing No. SO (E-I) 9-
8/2013(I), dated 08-01-2018 (copy attached), the schedule of Departmental Professional
Examination of Irrigation Department Punjab has been revised by the Competent
Authority. Now the Departmental Professional Examination will be held on February
24 & 25, 2018 as per schedule given below:
VENUE: Punjab University Examination Halls, Wahdat Road, Lahore

Professional – A Saturday 24.02.2018 10.00 A.M. to 12.00 Noon
Professional – B Sunday 25.02.2018 10.00 A.M. to 12.00 Noon
Professional – C 25.02.2018 02.00 P.M. to 04.00 P.M.
It is requested to please send nominations of the eligible candidates to the office
of the undersigned by 09.02.2018 of Assistant Executive Engineers / Sub Divisional
Officers etc. (BS-17) (possessing qualification of [Link]. Engineering or B.E. (Civil or
Mechanical) or an equivalent qualification and registered with the PEC as provided
under the Punjab Irrigation Department (Engineering Posts) Service Rules, 2013) and
regular Sub Engineers eligible for Examination as per rules / instructions for
Departmental Professional Examination. Only those candidates will be registered for
appearance in Examination, who have been recommended & signed by the respective
Chief Engineers themselves on the attached prescribed Proforma. The Proforma,
complete in all respect, must reach this office by 09.02.2018 positively. Incomplete
Proformas or nominations received after due date will not be entertained. The
instructions & prescribed Proforma may please be circulated to all the quarters
concerned under your administrative control immediately.
All the candidates are required to be annexed following documents:

Admit Cards / Roll No. Slips will be issued on 21st & 22nd February, 2018. The
same may be collected by the Candidates in person during the office hours from
Government Engineering Academy Punjab, Thokar Niaz Beg, Canal Bank Road,
Lahore.
The question papers will consist of MCQs (Multiple Choice Question) /
Objective Type. The candidates shall have to attempt all the three papers at a time and
shall not be allowed to appear by parts except those who have already passed any
paper earlier.

Admit Card (Roll Will be issued on 21 & 22 February, 2018 only. The same may be collected by the

Reporting Time: 08.00 A.M. at the Main Gate of Examination Hall, on the date of paper.
Identification for Admission to the Examination Centre and Entry Procedure
Bring your original Admit Card (Roll No. Slip) along with original Computerized National Identity Card
(CNIC) at the time of Examination.
Only those bonafide candidates shall be admitted whose names have been recommended by their
respective Chief Engineers / Controlling Officers and registered / en-rolled by the Controller of
Examination (Principal, Government Engineering Academy Punjab, Lahore).
Controller of Examinations / Principal, Government Engineering Academy Punjab, Lahore reserves the
right to disallow any of the candidates found invalid to take the Exam without assigning any reason.
Candidates appearing in one paper must bring previous Exam certificate in original / certified copy of
having been placed in compartment in that paper.
About the Exams
The Blank Answer Sheets shall be supplied by the Controller of Examinations / Principal, Government
Engineering Academy Punjab, Lahore in Exam Hall whereas other necessary stationery items will be
arranged by the candidates.
In the Exam 100% of the Paper shall be objective type (Multiple Choice Questions) (MCQs).
Use of Calculator (non-programmable) shall be allowed.
Each candidate shall obey the instructions given by the Supervising Officer, who reserves the right to
dismiss the candidate from Exam for creating disturbance or using unfair means.
Carrying Mobile Phones in to Examination Hall is not allowed.
Start and end time of paper shall be as counted by Supervising Officer as official timekeeper.
Candidate has to choose one correct answer from the Multiple Choice Answers given against each
question.
The candidate can go forth and back to all of the questions in the paper during the time allowed for that
paper.
The question & answer shall be collected sharply after the expiry of their respective allowed time.
The candidate can leave the Exam Hall only with the permission of Supervising Officer.
The scoring procedure shall be as under:
Correct answer to a question shall be awarded full points.
Picking two or more than two choice answers against a question shall be treated as wrong answer.
Un-attempted question shall be given zero point.
Cuttings and erasures are not allowed.
The net number of points obtained by each candidate shall be converted to the number of marks
allocated to each paper in the PWDs Code to calculate the result as per criteria laid down in the
PWD Code.
