Licensed Professional Teacher, who caters to Badjao Learners and, English Language
Teachers.

I. READING
1. Do you face difficulties in teaching reading in English among Badjao Learners
because English is not their first language? Under what conditions?
2. Do you encounter Badjao students who lack phonemic awareness, which is a
necessary skill for reading acquisition in English, and how does this affect
their reading abilities?
3. Do you experience Badjao learners who lack access to printed materials during
Badjao Learners' developmental age and the absence of Badjao parents who
engage in reading activities affects your performance in teaching English? If
yes, could you provide a further explanation.
4. Despite your commitment to teach English through reading, have you
encountered Badjao learners who are unmotivated to decline support in their
English learning journey?
5. Do you experience in a daily setting that English Language Teachers are
undertrained in teaching Badjaos to read, limiting their ability to meet a variety
of learning needs in their classrooms?
II. WRITING
1. Do you have difficulty teaching English to Badjao Learners because they lack
vocabulary in the English language? Give some examples.

1. Having some Badjao Learners enrolled in your class, do you face any
difficulties when having discourse with them inside the classroom?
2. During lesson discussion, do you usually find it hard to speak English in front
of the class knowing that some of your students especially the Badjao’s can’t
fully understand what you are saying?
3. Do you have trouble understanding and comprehending what your Badjao
Learners try to tell you during recitation and other forms of discourse inside
the classroom?
4. When it comes to speaking activities inside the classroom, are there times
where the Badjao learners stutter and stumble in speaking and uttering English
words?
5. During the time of learning inside the classroom involving socialization, are
there any Badjao learners who won’t fully participate in activities that includes
speaking and talking with their classmates?

IV. LISTENING
1. In a daily school setup, are there times where the Badjao Learners won’t pay
attention during class especially in the English subject?
2. Do they show any unusual type of behavior while listening when you are
discussing in front of the class, especially during English subject?
3. In times of thorough discussion inside the classroom, does the Badjao Learners
gets easily bored and won’t show interest in listening while you are teaching?
4. In the course of lesson during class, are there times when the Badjao
learners ask you to say again a word that is unclear to them or do they try to
make you repeat what you are saying? Like instructions?
5. Despite the problems of lacking interest in listening, what are your ways to
capture and gather all the attention of your students, especially the Badjao
learners inside the classroom specifically during English period? Provide
examples.
